Project scope
- What is the main goal for this project?
-
We are a holistic health and fitness company currently in the process of updating our programs and services. We would like to collaborate with students to help develop program content that is evidence-based, engaging, easy to implement, and inclusive.
This will involve several different steps for the students, including:
- Researching principles of trauma-informed care, especially as they relate to nutrition and fitness.
- Developing wellness program content that incorporates evidence-based principles of nutrition, fitness, psychology, etc. Content will need to be engaging, easy for clients to implement and adhere to, and inclusive.
- Providing metrics to justify the implementation of the program.
- Revising and improving the proposed program based on feedback.
- What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?
-
By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:
- Understanding of how trauma/ACEs affect relationships with food, fitness, sleep, stress, and self-esteem.
- Understanding of how inclusivity, cultural competence, and a client-centered focus intersect with evidence-based medicine to provide optimal client care.
- Development of a health and wellness program for our company.
- Recommendations and justification for the program’s implementation.
Bonus steps would include:
- Revising the program based on feedback
- Creating social media content (blog articles, posts, videos) to complement the program created
Final deliverables should include
- A fully developed wellness program.
- A 10-minute presentation.
