Details

The PD Avengers, an advocacy group focused on raising awareness for neurological conditions, aims to secure global participation in their "Spark the Night" event on April 11, 2026. The project involves coordinating with various stakeholders to light up iconic buildings, bridges, and landmarks in blue, symbolizing support for those affected by Parkinson's disease. The challenge is to effectively communicate the importance of this initiative to building managers and city officials, ensuring widespread participation. Students will apply their skills in project management, communication, and negotiation to achieve this goal. The project will also provide an opportunity to explore cultural and logistical considerations when organizing a global event. By the end of the project, students will have developed a comprehensive plan to engage and secure commitments from key locations worldwide.

Deliverables

- A detailed project plan outlining the strategy to approach and secure commitments from at least 10 iconic landmarks worldwide.

- A communication toolkit, including email templates and presentation materials, tailored for different stakeholders.

- A timeline and checklist for tracking progress and ensuring all tasks are completed by the event date.

- A final report summarizing the project's outcomes, challenges faced, and lessons learned, with recommendations for future initiatives.
