Dragonfruit Music aims to expand its roster by identifying emerging music producers and artists whose sound aligns with the label's unique brand. The project involves researching and analyzing current music trends to pinpoint potential talent that fits the label's aesthetic. The team will develop a comprehensive sourcing strategy to effectively purchase or license beats and finished tracks from independent creators. This strategy should consider various platforms and networks where independent artists showcase their work. Additionally, the project will explore innovative ways to engage with these artists and producers, ensuring a mutually beneficial relationship. The goal is to create a streamlined process that allows Dragonfruit Music to efficiently discover and collaborate with new talent, enhancing the label's offerings and staying ahead in the competitive music industry.

Deliverables

Learners will be responsible for identifying 30–50 emerging music producers or unsigned artists whose sound aligns with the label’s brand and genre focus. They will conduct direct outreach via email, DMs, or platform messaging to explore opportunities for music acquisition, beat licensing, or artist collaboration. Throughout the project, learners will maintain a structured outreach log that tracks contact details, communication history, response status, and any notable outcomes. The goal is to initiate at least 5–10 meaningful conversations or preliminary deals with interested producers or artists. Learners are expected to provide weekly progress updates and deliver a final folder of sourced tracks, beats, or demos along with a detailed outreach tracker by the end of the project.
