The project focuses on enhancing the efficiency and safety of electric vehicle (EV) batteries used in energy storage systems through computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and numerical modeling. With the growing demand for sustainable energy solutions, optimizing battery performance is crucial. The project aims to simulate thermal and fluid dynamics within EV batteries to identify potential improvements in heat dissipation and energy efficiency. By applying classroom knowledge of fluid dynamics and numerical methods, learners will develop and refine models that predict battery behavior under various conditions. The ultimate goal is to propose design modifications or operational strategies that enhance battery life and performance while ensuring safety standards are met.
