The Edmonton Neighbourhood Watch Program Society (ENW) seeks to to develop a sustainable and strategic communications plan that strengthens ENW’s engagement with volunteers, community leagues, agencies and key external stakeholders (e.g., MLAs, MPs, Councillors, Law Enforcement, and Emergency Response). The project aims to establish clear communication channels, a regular volunteer reporting structure, and stakeholder outreach strategies that reflect ENW's mission and activities and enhances ENW’s visibility and credibility across stakeholders.


Tasks & Activities Learners Will Engage In:

  • Assessing ENW's current communication methods (interviews, survey design, or existing documentation review)
  • Designing a volunteer reporting structure (forms, submission process, workflow)
  • Drafting sample newsletters and stakeholder update templates
  • Creating a communications plan with segmented strategies for each stakeholder group
  • Proposing a content and outreach calendar for regular engagement


Deliverables

Project Outcomes & Deliverables:

  • A comprehensive Marketing & Communications Plan, including stakeholder segmentation, key messages, communication channels, and timing
  • A structured Volunteer Reporting Framework, including sample reporting forms, a process map, and submission guidelines
  • 1–2 Sample Newsletters and Stakeholder Update Templates to volunteers, community leagues, agencies and key external stakeholders
  • A Stakeholder Engagement Calendar outlining when and how to reach out to specific groups (volunteers, community leagues, and officials)
  • Optional: Brief presentation deck summarizing the communication strategy and recommendations
