- What is the main goal for this project?

We’re looking for a student to help us launch a podcast. The goal of the podcast is to grow the OneTeamMVMT community by hosting meaningful and engaging conversations with experts and thought-leaders in areas that will interest our listeners. We want to put out content that not only entertains, but educates our audience on topics such as: body positivity, racial and gender inclusivity, cultural appreciation vs appropriation, and other training and sport tips.
- What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

- Research Podcasts to help us determine the appropriate layout and structure, and discover tips for hosting a podcast
- Create a Podcast Plan (including dates, guests, etc)
- Contact/invite guests for the podcast, and any follow-up with the guests before/after the recording
- Write out show scripts (guest biographies, questions to ask during the interview, the by-line for the show, etc)
- Post-podcast editing (audio and video editing may be required) and transcribing the interviews/podcast episodes

- How will you support learners in completing the project?

Students will work closely with the Executive Director who will be the host of the podcast. There will also be occasional progress meetings where adjustments to the students' tasks and duties can be made if necessary. The student may also receive a oneteammvmt email address for contacting/inviting guests to be on the podcast.
- What skills or technologies will help learners to complete the project?

We are looking for a self-starter who is very self-directed in their working style (willing to work independently and set your own timelines that you hold yourself accountable to), but is also very open to receive and apply constructive feedback. Additional skills include:
- Writing
- Content Development
- Researching
- Video editing and audio editing (using iMovie, audacity, or a program the student is comfortable using)

OneTeamMVMT is a non-profit organization (NPO) that creates opportunities for youth development and lifelong engagement in sport, through opportunities which promote athleticism, artistry, and inclusivity – such as the team discipline of synchronized skating. Synchronized skating is a co-ed sport which is comprised of 90% females, and provides an outlet for individuals to stay engaged in sport for life. This sport plays an important role in keeping females engaged in healthy, active living, by providing access to a team activity that combines artistry and athleticism. Female-dominant sports are particularly in need of support; according to Canadian Women and Sport, 1-in-3 females leave sport by their late teens, compared to 1-in-10 males. According to CAAWS, if a girl isn’t participating in sport by the age of 10 there is only a 10% chance of them being physically active at age 25.
Our NPO successfully proliferates the sport of synchronized skating through our year-round initiatives.
