Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

Our non-profit engages the community through our website and social and print media. In an effort to educate and create behaviour change, we consistently create marketing and education campaigns. However, our knowledge of website design and digital marketing is limited and we need help understanding website analytics and gaps in our knowledge.


We would like to collaborate with students to improve our online presence by refining our website.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

  • Familiarizing themselves with our target market and services.
  • Reviewing ad marketing content in the form of posts, newsletter, brochures, etc.
  • Use Google Analytics data to perform a web audit
  • Develop suggestions for improving website

Bonus steps in the process would also include:

  • Provide suggestions website updates.
What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

  • Familiarity with our target market and services
  • Assessment of website functionalities and components
  • Proposal with specific suggestions for improving

Bonus steps would include:

  • Propose a digital advertising tracking strategy

Final deliverables should include

  • How to document on how to Track analytics for website
  • Website audit report
How will you support learners in completing the project?

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • Our products and services
  • Our marketing strategies
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.

The Central Kootenay Invasive Species Society is a non-profit society that was formed in 2005 with the purpose of promoting collaborative approaches to invasive species management. The Society's mission is to prevent the spread of invasive species in the Central Kootenay region of British Columbia. Our vision is to minimize impacts of invasive species on ecosystems, communities, and economy through the collaboration of a network of partners.
