Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

The primary goal is to generate revenue and be noticed as a Top Influencer in the Accessibility and Inclusion space and demographically. This is by increasing brand awareness and engagement, drive website traffic, improve SEO, lead generation, digital transformation.


This will help our company's vision of building an accessible culture as well as normalize the global mindset of accessibility and inclusion at no set limits. Our key objective is to help clients gain access to the untapped target market of people with disabilities and meet legislation. This includes 15% of the world's population (World Health Organization, 2020) - over 1 billion people -- with 6.2M people in Canada alone (Statistics Canada, 2017). The disability market touches 53% of consumers and represents a huge opportunity for business controlling more than $366.5 billion. Globally, this market opportunity is more than $10 trillion (Rich Donovan, Special to the Global and Mail, 2017).


Our mission is to educate and prevent accessibility barriers to ensure people with disabilities have the opportunity, equal access, and proper accommodation to continuously participate within the workforce, community, the digital world and society as a whole.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

Key tasks to achieve the project goal, with our guidance and support:


  1. Integrate software to track sales, market to customers, offer discounts, establish an e-commerce loyalty program.
  2. Utilize tools to track and analyze website traffic and search rankings.
  3. Set up Google Analytics to track and measure website traffic, behaviour and conversation rates.
  4. Implementation of plug-ins and tools to optimize WordPress website functionality.
  5. Connect website to an online LMS platform (i.e., to post online learning courses).
  6. Use creativity and innovation to create pop-ups to be added to business website to increase engagement and for education.
  7. Audio video editing (i.e., break current recordings of past events into chunks to use as social media posts).
  8. Utilize a mix of organic and paid promotion tactics to increase visibility and reach various social media platforms.
  9. Hold strong understanding of accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities.
  10. Web Accessibility Testing: Analyzing and reporting the metrics / results of the tests.
  11. Fix the accessibility compliance issues of the website with direction of the business owner and including the provided web accessibility checkers and tools.
  12. Build awareness of disabilities and methods of evaluating accessibility.
  13. Content development (i.e., mix of educational, promotional, and engaging content) utilizing ChatGPT.
How will you support learners in completing the project?

Students will connect directly with the employer for mentorship and guidance throughout the project. Schedule to be confirmed between the employer and student(s).


Occasional progress meetings will take place where adjustments to the students' tasks and duties can be made as needed.
