Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

The goal of this project is to create a web-based learning platform that caters to the needs of diverse and disadvantaged students. The platform aims to provide an accessible and inclusive learning environment that supports student success and promotes equity in education.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?
  1. Designing a user interface that is easy to navigate and intuitive, with clear instructions and minimal clutter.
  2. Ensuring that the platform is accessible to users with disabilities, including those who use assistive technology such as screen readers or magnifiers.
  3. Implementing features that allow users to personalize their learning experience based on their individual needs and preferences.
  4. Incorporating multimedia content, such as videos and images, that is engaging and relevant to the target audience.
  5. Creating a system for tracking and reporting user progress and performance, so that educators and administrators can monitor student achievement and identify areas for improvement.
  6. Developing interactive tools and resources that support collaborative learning and problem-solving.
  7. Ensuring that the platform is secure and protected from cyber threats, particularly given the sensitive nature of the data involved in education.
How will you support learners in completing the project?

Students will work closely with CEO, Damola Idowu who is supervising and available for questions. This will also include occasional progress meetings where adjustments to the students' tasks and duties can be made if necessary.

What skills or technologies will help learners to complete the project?
  1. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to develop the platform's user interface and interactive features.
  2. Knowledge of server-side scripting languages such as PHP, Python, or Ruby, to create dynamic and data-driven web applications.
  3. Familiarity with database management and SQL to design and maintain the platform's database.
  4. Understanding of web accessibility standards and best practices, and the ability to incorporate these into the platform's design and development.
  5. Experience with responsive design principles, to ensure that the platform is accessible and easy to use on a variety of devices and screen sizes.
  6. Knowledge of security and privacy best practices, and the ability to design and implement secure login and authentication systems.
