What is the main goal for this project?

U+Education would like to improve its onboarding processes by streamlining it. We want the onboarding process to reflect U+ as a company, promoting company culture and increasing employee retention. The onboarding experience should be intuitive, helpful, functional and virtual. 


Timeline: Report should be completed by Jan 2023 (before a new season of onboarding)

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?
  • Analyzing the current onboarding processes within U+ (i.e Google Site)
  • Research online onboarding platforms that U+ could take advantage of
  • Investigating and understanding best practices for SaaS onboarding
  • User feedback by testing and current staff to determine where improvements need to be made
  • Industry research: examine how competitors are operating their onboarding processes and identify which onboarding practices are best at reaching employees and making a lasting impact
  • Create introduction and icebreaker section of the onboarding process to introduce new hires to the company culture and values


Deliverables:

  • Develop familiarity with different onboarding platforms and identify the one with the most - potential for success at U+
  • Create a report with an onboarding change proposal customized for U+ and its values/mission (include statistics, graphs and diagrams)
  • Present ideas and onboarding concepts effectively with evidence through a PPT presentation


How will you support learners in completing the project?
  • Students will connect directly with the employer for regular mentorship and supervision throughout the project.
  • U+ will provide students with access to previous onboarding tools (i.e Google Site), feedback from employees on these systems and will answer any questions
  • Students will attend regular team meetings or meet with employees to learn updates and contribute to brainstorming sessions.
