No skills listedFoodForRelief is a non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating hunger by coordinating food donations from local businesses and distributing them to communities in need. The current process of managing donations is manual and time-consuming, leading to inefficiencies and potential food wastage. The goal of this project is to develop a streamlined system that automates the coordination of food donations, ensuring timely collection and distribution. This project will allow learners to apply their knowledge of database management, user interface design, and process optimization. The system should be user-friendly, allowing FoodForRelief staff to easily input, track, and manage food donations. Key tasks include designing a database to store donation information, creating a web-based interface for data entry and retrieval, and developing a notification system to alert staff of new donations.
- A functional prototype of a web-based food donation coordination system.

About the company
FoodForRelief is a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing food waste and tackling food insecurity in Ottawa. We connect grocery stores, caterers, and businesses with food banks and charitable organizations, ensuring that surplus food is redistributed to those in need rather than going to waste. By fostering strong community partnerships, we aim to create a sustainable and efficient food rescue system that benefits both the environment and vulnerable populations.
