What is the main goal for this project?

About Us:

Global Citizen Therapy is a mental health company that provides specialized support for womxn of color who are daughters of immigrants. Nancy Diaz, the founder, is a trauma-informed therapist, speaker, and podcast host dedicated to promoting mental well-being and providing valuable resources to those seeking healing and growth. Our practice includes therapy services, speaking engagements, a podcast, YouTube channel, workshops, trainings, and active social media presence. We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated interns to join our team and assist us in various aspects of our work.


Position Overview:

As a Content and Marketing Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work closely with us to help fill our private practice, book speaking engagements, create engaging content for YouTube and our podcast, manage our social media channels, organize and promote workshops, plan and market upcoming events, and assist in running our newsletter. This internship is a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fields of mental health, content creation, and digital marketing while contributing to a meaningful mission.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Filling Our Private Practice:
  • Write guest blog posts for mental health or wellness websites and include a brief bio with a link to website.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients.
  • Support in the creation and execution of online advertising campaigns
  • Send outreach emails and messages for referrals.

Booking More Speaking Engagements:

  • Research and compile a list of relevant events and conferences.
  • Assist with outreach and follow-up to event organizers and potential clients.

Editing and Publishing Content:

  • Help with video and audio post-production, including editing and captioning.
  • Create visually appealing thumbnails and graphics for YouTube and podcast episodes.

Social Media Management:

  • Manage our social media accounts, including content creation and scheduling.
  • Engage with our online community and monitor social media analytics.

Workshop Organization and Promotion:

  • Support in logistics, including venue research and registration.
  • Assist in creating promotional materials and managing online registration.

Website Editing and SEO:

  • Edit and update website content to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Implement SEO strategies to improve the website's search engine ranking.

Newsletter Management:

  • Help with newsletter design, content creation, and distribution.
  • Conduct market research and assist in segmenting our newsletter subscribers.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, marketing, communications).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in video and audio editing tools (for content-related tasks).
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and email marketing.
  • A passion for mental health, well-being, and content creation.

Editing and Publishing Content:

  1. Post-production: Help with post-production work for videos and podcast episodes, including editing, captioning, and ensuring high-quality content.
  2. Graphic Design: Create visually appealing thumbnails and graphics for YouTube and podcast episodes to attract viewers.

Social Media Management:

  1. Content Creation: Assist in content creation for social media platforms, ensuring that posts are engaging, relevant, and align with your brand.
  2. Engagement: Engage with the online community by responding to comments, questions, and messages, and foster a sense of community.
  3. Analytics: Monitor and report on social media analytics to understand what content is performing best and adjust the strategy accordingly.

Workshop Organization and Promotion:

  1. Logistics: Support in logistical tasks related to organizing workshops, including venue research, registration management, and coordination.
  2. Promotional Materials: Assist in creating promotional materials such as flyers, posters, and online marketing campaigns for the workshops.

Running a Newsletter:

  1. Newsletter Design: Help design and format the newsletter, ensuring it's visually appealing and aligns with your brand.
  2. Content Creation: Assist in content creation for the newsletter, including articles, updates, and other valuable information.
  3. Segmentation: Conduct market research to segment newsletter subscribers based on their interests and demographics.


How will you support learners in completing the project?

I will support interns by:


1. Orientation and Onboarding:

  • Begin by providing a comprehensive orientation that introduces them to your practice, your mission, and the specific goals of the internship.

2. Clear Expectations:

  • Define their roles and responsibilities clearly, including specific tasks and performance expectations. Discuss goals and timelines.

3. Training and Guidance:

  • Offer training in the tools, software, and processes they'll be using. Provide guidance on best practices in content creation, outreach, or any other relevant tasks.

4. Regular Check-Ins:

  • Schedule regular meetings to discuss progress, address questions, and provide feedback. This can be done in person, via video conferencing, or through other communication channels.

5. Encourage Learning:

  • Foster a learning environment where interns can acquire new skills and expand their knowledge in your field. Provide access to resources, books, or courses if possible.

6. Feedback and Evaluation:

  • Regularly review their work and provide constructive feedback. Highlight areas of improvement and recognize their achievements.

7. Encourage Independence:

  • While providing guidance, give them opportunities to take ownership of their tasks and projects. This can boost their confidence and sense of responsibility.

8. Collaboration:

  • Promote collaboration between interns and other team members. Encourage them to share ideas and insights with each other.
