Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

Our company would like to explore designing a prototype for a mobile application (Progressive Web App). Over the last year, we have created a basic pre-market MVP and trials with prospective customers. (See the attached image)

We would like a group of students to design a better version of the mobile application for our upcoming web based product.

We are intentional in working freshers/college-interns, as the target user of this application is modern startups from the new generation.

This will involve:

  • Study existing web MVP of the product/solution.
  • Identify key areas of our current product and how they might translate to a mobile application.
  • (if needed) Interviews with a subset of target users
  • Learn and use various software design tools. We strongly recommend students learn how to use AdobeXd (or Figma) as these are current industry standards for UX design.
  • Creation of a screen-by-screen UX / UI prototype of a Progressive Web Application, independent of the platform (iOS Android).
What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

By the end of the project, students would have completed the following list of activities:

  • Familiarize themselves with a design tool of their choosing and understand how it works. We strongly recommend AdobeXd.
  • Design and build inside of the design tool all the needed screens for a mobile application prototype of our product.
  • Present the final design screens to us with the context of all their choices they made, problems they encountered, and next steps they recommend.

Bonus steps would include:

  • Conducting UX / UI testing with real potential users.

Final deliverables should include:

  • The design screens and all assets are in a shareable format, AdobeXD preferred.
  • A presentation to meet your college requirements.
How will you support learners in completing the project?

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will provide answers to questions such as:

  • Current product understanding
  • Industry-standard design tools
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter
