Project scope
- What is the main goal for this project?
-
Our company would like to explore designing a prototype for a mobile application (Progressive Web App). Over the last year, we have created a basic pre-market MVP and trials with prospective customers. (See the attached image)
We would like a group of students to design a better version of the mobile application for our upcoming web based product.
We are intentional in working freshers/college-interns, as the target user of this application is modern startups from the new generation.
This will involve:
- Study existing web MVP of the product/solution.
- Identify key areas of our current product and how they might translate to a mobile application.
- (if needed) Interviews with a subset of target users
- Learn and use various software design tools. We strongly recommend students learn how to use AdobeXd (or Figma) as these are current industry standards for UX design.
- Creation of a screen-by-screen UX / UI prototype of a Progressive Web Application, independent of the platform (iOS Android).
- What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?
-
By the end of the project, students would have completed the following list of activities:
- Familiarize themselves with a design tool of their choosing and understand how it works. We strongly recommend AdobeXd.
- Design and build inside of the design tool all the needed screens for a mobile application prototype of our product.
- Present the final design screens to us with the context of all their choices they made, problems they encountered, and next steps they recommend.
Bonus steps would include:
- Conducting UX / UI testing with real potential users.
Final deliverables should include:
- The design screens and all assets are in a shareable format, AdobeXD preferred.
- A presentation to meet your college requirements.

- How will you support learners in completing the project?
-
Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will provide answers to questions such as:
- Current product understanding
- Industry-standard design tools
- Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter
