What is the main goal for this project?

Today, for one of our holding companies, we need to your help to determine possible exit opportunities as it pertains to the D2C market. This company is making oral care affordable and easy. For the past few years we have seen moderate growth and are looking to find the customer base a new home. We need your help to ensure that it is able to get the right valuation through an in-depth deep dive analysis of the industry and create a recommendation.


The scope of this project will encompass:


  • Target opportunity sizing of toothbrush market
  • Determine exit multiples as it relates to comparable companies analysis
  • Recommendations for companies that could acquire it
What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

Over the course of this project, we will require your help on creating a presentation to the board:


Deliverable 1: Create target opportunity sizing of toothbrush market

  • Use back of the envelope and first and third party data to determine the opportunity

Deliverable 2: Build a table where you highlight the exit multiples as it relates to comparable companies analysis

  • Create a slide with research provivded by Crunchbase, and precedent transaction tools to determine a football field range of valuations analyses

Deliverable 3: Create a slide that shows your recommendations for companies that could acquire it

  • Create a recommendation slide summarizing the above analysis in order to obtain buy in from founders
