Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

We want students to help us optimize our SEO (through the wix platform) and the copywriting for our website and new newsletter marketing channel. Our target is to optimize our writing on the back and front end to better attract our target audience and display ourselves in the best way possible. This project is focused on building on our existing brand image to bring our written marketing text (copywriting) to life.

Scope: The main objectives we would like students to help us with are:

  • Optimize existing SEO settings on our Wix platform
  • Create from scratch a newsletter marketing channel
  • Optimize the copywriting on our website

Requirements:

  • Proficient in copywriting/persuasive writing
  • Knowledgeable in effective graphic design principles and strategies
What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?
  • Visit every page (~20) our website and enhance the SEO
  • Visit every page on our website and enhance the copywriting
  • Using Wix Email Marketing, create a strategy resulting in ~5 newsletters being sent out to our current email list.
How will you support learners in completing the project?

As a young organization this project is hands-on and will directly impact how our audience will experience our organization. The role will have direct interaction with the Operations Manager, have at minimum, bi-weekly check-ins, the opportunity to create marketing strategy from scratch and execute on it, utilize professional marketing tools, get feedback through every stage of the process, and an opportunity to reflect and learn lessons through the project.

We are a non-profit organization with the mission to inspire the next generation to interact responsibly with the environment, by providing nature-focused curriculum, outdoor field trips and competitions to youth in Vancouver, British Columbia.
