Details

The Réseau ACCESS Network aims to address the critical issue of inadequate healthcare services for transgender community members. The project seeks to increase public knowledge and understanding of the healthcare disparities faced by the transgender community. By leveraging social media platforms, the campaign will highlight the urgent need for equitable health coverage and garner support for funding initiatives. The goal is to create a compelling and informative social media campaign that educates the public, engages stakeholders, and drives actionable support for improved healthcare services for transgender individuals.

Key objectives include:

raising awareness about the lack of healthcare services for transgender individuals.

- educating the public on the importance of equitable health coverage.

mobilizing community support for funding initiatives. Most gender-affirming services (GAS) clinics are open due to fundraising dollars.

Deliverables

The project will result in the creation of a comprehensive social media campaign, including:

- A series of educational posts and infographics.

- Testimonials will be captured (video/audio/written) from transgender individuals sharing their healthcare experiences, which will be crucial. Réseau ACCESS Network staff will support the engagement with members/patients, providing guidance and assistance as needed.

- A campaign hashtag to unify and track engagement.

- A final report summarizing the campaign's reach, engagement metrics, and recommendations for future initiatives. (Phase 1 of the campaign for Northern Ontario)

These deliverables will collectively aim to inform and engage the public, fostering a supportive environment for policy change and increased funding for transgender healthcare services.
