Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

We are interested in working with a student that is interested in learning about and assisting us in the development of a yoga program for people who are experiencing post concussion syndrome. We have developed, implemented and done some formal research on the subject and we have evolved a program of yoga asana (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), meditation, mindfulness, mudras (gestures) that improve the quality of life for those who are suffering from PCS and their care-givers. We are interested in formalizing our findings into a paper or a book and creating a online course that contains tools that can be used asychonistically.

The student would be involved in compiling research and creating a document. The student would be able to work with clients and experience yoga for this condition so that they are aware, in a kinaesthetic way about how the practices feel. The student may interview clients and gather quotes and testimonials about how the clients feel before, during and after yoga and meditation practice.

The student may help to create a teachable course pack with this population in mind in terms of user experience and functionality. The student can be involved in beta testing the course with clients and ensuring that the formats, time/duration, methods are ideal and reporting back to myself, the director of Atlas Yoga School and a occupational therapist who specializes in this condition.

If there is time there will be a second course developed that is for yoga teachers who want to specialize in this condition and if there is time in the placement the student can assist in that course development as well.
