Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

Do you have a background or interest in implementing intuitive, responsive web application User Interfaces?

Autism therapy programs involve collecting a lot of complex data, and that's where we come in. ABAKiS allows autism intervention teams to reliably record data, track progress, analyze trends and update protocols - all instantly accessible from the cloud. "Keeping it simple" is so core to our brand promise that it's written into right our name: ABAKiS means "ABA - Keep it Simple".

Our web application, "myABAKiS" is at the core of this brand promise.

We’d love to see what you would do with our core web application, "myABAKiS". Originally optimized for "large" screens, tablet users often complain that the layout fails to fully meet our brand promise on their devices. Taking feedback and design ideas from several past user experience studies and focus groups, your task will be to update the existing application UI design to be responsive down to medium-sized screens while maintaining consistency with larger screen sizes.

Students will work closely with the product owner and be a part of the regular development team, attending daily scrum meetings etc., to ultimately produce production-ready code. All meetings will be held virtually.

Technology Stack

This project will primarily involve HTML5 / CSS with some Javascript. Some familiarity with development in a Ruby on Rails environment is helpful but not essential.

About the company

ABAKiS provides a simple, online data recording and analysis tool for autism intervention service providers.

One of the biggest challenges faced by autism intervention service providers, is the recording and analysis of the vast amounts of complex data demanded of the leading intervention protocols, collectively known as Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA). The ABAKiS solution to this is a web portal application that allows intervention teams to easily collect and share this data. Primary service providers use this data for instant, on-demand analysis to keep plans current; and parents can visually follow their child's progress.

In contrast to other similar solutions, ABAKiS is designed to be an affordable, easy-to-use option primarily aimed at independent service providers and smaller clinics for whom a larger-scale solution would not be feasible.
