About ShareChange
The ShareChange app enables people to fund life-changing loans directly to individuals in underbanked communities around the world. This creates the opportunity for someone to start a business, expand their farm, or go to school, and improve their standard of living. As the recipient repays, users receive credits to empower someone again - doubling or tripling their impact.
We launched the mobile app in December 2022. We are now looking to bring this into a responsive website, so people can log in or contribute directly in their browser.
The Project
Primary Focus:
- Implement a responsive web platform using our existing back-end: React, Java Script, and Node JS.
Goals:
- For the students to create a fully functioning web application.
- For students to gain experience in developing a RESTFul API and platform.
Communication: Slack, Zoom, Email
Contact: Celyn Brown, Founder
Secondary contact: Susahosh Rahman, Interim CTO
- What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?
-
TASKS:
- Building a responsive, front-end website to display funding opportunities
- Displaying profiles that people can fund (existing in our database)
- Displaying the donors' funding history (using our existing programs)
- Connect stripe for payments
Other duties the student may complete could include:
- Cloud computing (with assistance from our team)
- Microservices
- Unit and integration testing
- Integrate our existing authentication/account creation framework
Resources
Provided Tools: Slack, Jira, Bitbucket

The ShareChange app gives people creative ways to fund life-changing loans. These loans empower underbanked individuals to start a business, expand their farm, or go to school, and ultimately lift themselves out of poverty. Through ShareChange, you can choose who to fund, and receive credits to empower someone again as they repay!
1.7 billion people are unbanked, meaning they don't have access to tools like credit and student loans to create a better future for themselves. These loans often improve the lives of their children and future generations, and may even create jobs for others in the community.

Mission: Motivate people to create financial opportunities for underbanked individuals around the world.
