What is the main goal for this project?

Positions available: 3 ( 1 team with 3 students)

Project Description and Scope:

Introduction

The Career Centre is looking for a team of students to map KPIs for the Centre's operations and services, make recommendations about the future of our operations and services, and assess the effectiveness of our data collections techniques and technology.

Students would have the opportunity to

- Use the current state analysis to identify our key operations and services, and outline high and low level KPI measurements for the Centre to abide by with help from Work Learn students and staff

- Make sure KPIs are defined using the SMART tactic (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-bound)

- Develop recommendations for future state analysis (FSA) based on CSA findings

- Support Career Centre operations and initiatives by maintaining and updating currently existing databases of employers, alumni, students, and staff

- Evaluate current operations to ensure compliance to KPI measurements

- Assess the effectiveness of current technology and provide feedback and findings about their usage, feasibility, and value

- Make recommendations and outline new methods to ensure KPI compliance by formulating a long term growth plan

- Communicate analytic solutions with leadership and apprise leadership of the status of operations throughout the process of running and executing projects

- Using models like charts, graphs, and tables showing findings and summaries of all our databases to draw conclusions in the form of reports

- Liaising with other volunteers and staff to help compare findings over the years and even across job industries

- Keep track of current operations and incorporating new projects and tasks into current operations

We’re Looking for Someone Like You If:

- You have a passion for research and data analysis

- You have the ability to be flexible and adaptable in a dynamic environment

- You have an affinity for project-based work and are able to work independently and in a team

- You have experience working with software and programming languages

- You have basic office administrative skills and the ability to operate standard office equipment

Qualifications

- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

- Intermediate knowledge of at least one of Stata, Python, R, Tableau, Canvas API (or other data analysis software) to conduct analysis of data and produce clear results

- Previous experience with data collection and analysis, and statistical modelling

- Strong organizational and time-management skills

- Resourceful and able to research best practices in a variety of areas

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in all forms (email, phone, in-person)

- Able to deal with information in a confidential manner and respond with sensitivity

- Equally at ease working independently and in a team environment

- Previous experience with Qualtrics, WordPress, and/or Canvas Course (asset)

- Previous experience conducting research and developing comprehensive research reports (asset)

- Previous experience working with a Career Centre / Coaching field (asset)

- Must be able to work up to 10 hours a week

Student will receive:

- Weekly oversight through prescheduled meetings

- Constant feedback on operations

- Recommendations and potential to return for other projects after completion
