Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

The main goal for the project is to make basic data analysis for autism intervention programs within reach for professionals starting a new practice, or those in developing countries who cannot afford a subscription to an expensive data collection platform.

To support this goal, you will develop a proof of concept mobile app for android or iphone, that takes a photo of handwritten entries on a printed form template and converts it into a specified data format that can be consumed by the existing ABAKiS API. This will involve several different steps for the learners, including:

- Understanding the existing ABAKiS API and its data format requirements.

- Developing a mobile app that can capture and convert handwritten entries into the specified data format.

- Testing the app to ensure accurate conversion and integration with the ABAKiS API.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

By the end of the project, learners should complete the following tasks:

- Developed a functional mobile app for android or iphone that captures handwritten entries and converts them into the specified data format.

- Tested the app to ensure accurate conversion and seamless integration with the ABAKiS API.

Final deliverables should include:

- Source code for the mobile app.

- Documentation of the app's functionality and integration with the ABAKiS API.

How will you support learners in completing the project?

A senior member of our technical team will be available to support and guide you as needed. Access to code repositories and development environments will be provided.

This is primarily a research project to determine the technical feasibility of the concept and potential market acceptance. Expect to spend the majority of the project researching several solution candidates. A production-ready solution is not expected.

About the company

ABAKiS provides a simple, online data recording and analysis tool for autism intervention service providers.

One of the biggest challenges faced by autism intervention service providers, is the recording and analysis of the vast amounts of complex data demanded of the leading intervention protocols, collectively known as Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA). The ABAKiS solution to this is a web portal application that allows intervention teams to easily collect and share this data. Primary service providers use this data for instant, on-demand analysis to keep plans current; and parents can visually follow their child's progress.

In contrast to other similar solutions, ABAKiS is designed to be an affordable, easy-to-use option primarily aimed at independent service providers and smaller clinics for whom a larger-scale solution would not be feasible.
