Computer Science Capstone - Spring 2025

The University of Memphis’s Computer Science Capstone students are ready to apply their technical expertise in programming, software engineering, and project management to real-world projects. This experience supports students in developing their abilities to collaborate, develop software solutions, and address client needs while strengthening skills like app design, team communication, and technical presentation. Employers who sponsor a project must communicate regularly with students (about once per week), provide necessary project information, and offer guidance throughout the development process. Additionally, employers are asked to attend the final project presentation in person (virtual option available), where they can provide constructive, professional feedback to student teams through the Riipen platform.

Engage and Inspire: Public Writing and Advocacy Collaboration
The University of Memphis presents an exciting opportunity for employers to collaborate with students enrolled in the Fall 2024 "Advanced Composition: Public Writing and Advocacy" course. This diverse group includes English majors and UoMGlobal students from various fields, all eager to enhance their writing skills and engage in social action through effective communication across multiple media platforms. These students will be equipped to identify and apply the standards of genre-specific public writing and media, including social media campaigns, podcasts, web content, digital newsletters, email campaigns, blog posts, press releases, and other public media. By partnering with our students, employers can benefit from novice perspectives and a collaborative team of aspiring professional writers. Students will bring their project management and design thinking skills to real-world advocacy challenges, making meaningful contributions to public awareness, activism, promotion, marketing, and more.
