The Sandbox is a platform that empowers tripartite partnerships among industry, academics, and students to co-create solutions for contemporary business and societal problems. We welcome partners who are seeking sustainable, long-term relationships with courses and faculty members, and we hope to broaden our partnership with global institutions.

Human Biology Social Action Projects

Working in small groups, students will partner with a local NGO or community organization to implement a social action project. The project should address a specific social justice issue relevant to the community, aiming to create a meaningful impact. Students will submit a proposal, carry out the initiative, document their process and challenges, and present their work to the class.

The Sandbox is a leading-edge program where we invite organizations to engage in multidisciplinary, high-impact projects with our students across our hundreds of programs. We invite you to submit project proposals to collaborate with our students from our wide variety of programs and subject disciplines, and our experienced team will work to scope an appropriate project and structure the experience. Previous examples of Sandbox projects include: Working with a School District to review and update transport policy and practice. Working with multinational nonprofits to improve mission decision making via development of a data-driven platform. Working with an NGO to develop an evaluation rubric for sustainable development projects.
