We are excited to announce that our second group of Digital Health Graduate Certificate students at Mohawk College are seeking potential projects for their Capstone course starting in the fall (September 2024)! The Capstone projects will be completed in groups of 2 to 4 students over two semesters starting in the fall semester (September 2024) and concluding at the end of the winter semester (April 2025). The fall course will focus on students choosing a project, collecting requirements, formulating a design, doing some project planning and building a very rudimentary prototype system. During the winter semester, students will complete the implementation, test and deploy their final projects. Please note that I will be taking some vacation during the months of July and August with intermittent access to Riipen so I may be delayed in replying to project requests.

They are future Account Managers, Strategic Planners, Project Managers and Media Planners/Buyers.We would have 6-7 teams of students who could do some research and come up with communication strategies. They are capable of putting together social posts, but they are not Art Directors or Copy Writers, so they would not produce any advertising materials.

Career Pathways students have brought their many strengths to over 40 other college programs and a variety of industries beyond graduation. The placement is a key part of the program where students build on their professional skills and receive valuable mentorship through real-world employment experience. In partnering with the Career Pathways program, the community partner benefits from working with students with a unique perspective who are reliable, focused, supportive and empathetic, and who possess strong time management skills. It also provides the community partner with exposure to the benefits of neurodiversity in the workplace, reinforcing the importance of diversity, inclusion and belonging.

Social Service Worker students are ready to virtually support individuals, families, and communities through delivering social service programming to clients. As “professionals in training”, our students are ready to help out in various ways, developing their skills, knowledge, and attitudes that are necessary to enter the field as a social service work practitioner. We are looking for placement sites where students can apply in practice the concepts and theories learned in the classroom. The students have learned in the classroom about many aspects of social service work, including interpersonal skills, counseling, group facilitation, and case management. Please note that all of our students will have their Vulnerable Sector Screening completed.The students are available for 200 hours of unpaid, for-credit work experience beginning in both September 2021 and January 2022.
