Short-Term Social Impact Projects: Innovating for Community Care
Introduction: This experience offers students the opportunity to engage with real-world challenges related to social work, child development, senior care, and community engagement. Participants will leverage their creativity and problem-solving skills to develop innovative solutions that benefit organizations serving children , seniors , or sports communities . Through collaboration and guidance, students will refine their communication and leadership skills, making a meaningful impact while growing both personally and professionally. About the Course: This course focuses on equipping students with essential skills such as communication , leadership , problem - solving , and public speaking . It emphasizes hands-on learning through the development of plans and strategies tailored to real-life social work challenges, senior care, and child development. By working on projects that incorporate these fields, students will gain invaluable experience and build self-confidence, all while learning to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment. Expectations from Partners: We seek partners who are passionate about creating social impact within their organizations and are open to innovative solutions from students. Partners will provide guidance and feedback as students develop unique social media content, project plans, or marketing strategies related to areas such as child development, senior care, or sports. In return, partners will gain fresh perspectives and actionable ideas that can contribute to their organization's growth and community involvement.

Cyber Security Co-op - PAID ($16.00/hr min)
If you’re seeking support for a specific project or two, consider partnering with Loyalist College. Our Cyber Security co-op program connects you with skilled and emerging leaders in the field. Our postgraduates are taught by industry experts and have in-demand professional and technical skills that are highly sought after in today’s market. With a range of government funding and tax incentives hiring co-op students is a cost-effective way to address short-term staffing needs and evaluate potential employees for succession planning while contributing to a student’s future career.
Remote Radio/Audio Placements
WKPL2031
Radio Broadcasting students from Loyalist College are required to spend the last four weeks of their final semester (March 29 - April 23, 2021) working on real-life projects to apply their skills in a realistic and professional context in various sectors, including: radio broadcasting, audio production, podcasting, advertising and marketing, communications and non-profit. This is an unpaid, for-credit experience. Due to COVID-19, placements will occur mostly virtually. Students are available to start remotely before the March start date listed on this posting as well.
