Are you experiencing a business challenge related to compensation, retention or total rewards? Bring on learners from the University of Lethbridge to develop a comprehensive compensation strategy. Over the course of seven weeks, learners will work in groups to analyze your current compensation practices, conduct market research, evaluate job roles, and design a strategic total rewards package. The project will culminate in a final report and presentation.

The realm of Project Management, concerning matters of Indigenous significance, extends well beyond mere 'execution management.' In Aboriginal communities and among those engaged with Indigenous groups, the role of a Project Management Officer is growing in significance. In Aboriginal communities, this role differs greatly from its Western counterpart. Indigenous Project Management (IPM) goes beyond conventional approaches, incorporating Indigenous worldviews. For Aboriginal businesses or those working with them, Project Management merges Indigenous perspectives and seeks non-standard solutions. Practitioners of Indigenous Project Management must understand standard methods while championing truly Indigenous projects.

Looking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on students from the University of Lethbridge to be your virtual interns, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the internship period, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Internships must be related to the student’s new media studies, in areas such as: web design, graphic design, social media, film and video productions, 3D animation, 3D modeling, game design, compositing and visual effects, data visualization, 3D fabrication, etc. Students are required to complete a minimum of 300 hours of placement starting between September to December. Those hours can be divided into multiple placements/employers. These students are looking for both paid and unpaid internships with a preference for paid experiences to help offset tuition costs. Please indicate in your project submission which you are able to offer.

Building from the successful Applied & Independent Study model, the Dhillon School is Business is offering this Applied Consulting course for students to work in small teams on high-impact learning applied learning opportunities that allow them to integrate their learnings from the course into a practical environment. Students will work with companies to solve problems and provide meaningful deliverables (please see examples further down). Small companies are increasingly choosing private market solutions as the IPO market has entry barriers due to increased government regulations, compliance costs, and listing requirements. Small cap investors vying to add new IPOs to their portfolio are also investing earlier in the cycle (pre-IPO). This competition has led the development of secondary markets that provide an alternative to the traditional IPO. Through this course, University of Lethbridge business students will gain knowledge and skills to build and evaluate these early-stage companies. Students will demonstrate their ability to successfully perform financial transactions, marketing strategies and components of a business plan in a start up setting. They might help initiate and evaluate stages of new / existing opportunities that will accelerate any organizational growth and reactivity.

This course provides an introduction into a variety of human resource management (HRM) topics, including strategic human resource planning, work design, recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, compensation and benefits, health and safety, equity and diversity, and labor relations. A partnering company will be able to select five topics for students to focus on. Each topic will be assigned to two teams. Teams will do research on the topic to address an issue, answer questions, and/or provide recommendations for improvement.
