Details

Students are currently looking for internship or work placement opportunities starting in mid-May (although the start date could be sooner or later). Due to the COVID-19 climate, these work opportunities would need to be virtual/remote until further notice.

*Students are available between September 4th - December 18th and require a total of 360 hours.

Deliverables

Students will need to demonstrate that they have received real-world experience with an industry partner. The industry partner will be actively engaged with the students as a supervisor, mentor and coach.

Project Examples

Job Duty Examples:

· Assess requirements for construction industry Building Information Modeling (BIM) planning and management for Integrated Project Delivery (IPD)

· Analyze BIM processes in integrated project delivery from project conceptualization to facilities management

  • Conduct project risk analysis using BIM processes
  • Integrate knowledge of various suites of BIM applications into project design, construction and facilities management
  • CAD Production and 3D Modelling activities

· Project Management and Delivery Teams

  • Data Collection and Documentation

· Converting site, architectural and structural 2D drawings to 3D models

· 4D simulation/schedules

· Create renderings

· Site logistics and construction methodology

Example Skills Required of Students:

· Ability to write BIM reports

· Understanding design and construction phases and alignment

Software:

o Bluebeam

o AutoCAD

o Revit

o Navisworks
