Details

In spring 2022, students in Australia (RMIT University Melbourne) and USA (Buffalo University New York) will work together to research a Human Resource management topic (i.e. recruitment, selection, Training & development, Performance management, Reward management). They will conduct a comprehensive literature review and investigate a specific human resource topic on behalf of a Client (business organisation). Any potential gaps between the literature and the practical application of the Client’s proposed topic will be identified and recommendations made for improvement.

Project Examples

Students identify and evaluate key organizational approaches to improving HR outcomes for both the organisation and its employee. Students can work on a variety of projects including, but not limited to:

  • Aid in recruitment and selection activities including job analysis, posting positions, updating ATS systems, screening applicants, scheduling and
  • Participating in interviews
  • Assist in training & development initiatives including onboarding, new hire orientation and scheduling training
  • Update employer handbooks and policies
  • Research HRM best practices
  • Payroll administration
  • Production of statistical and employee engagement reports
  • Support Health and Safety or Wellness initiatives
  • Support disability management activities
  • Data entry in various HR activities
  • Support Labour Relations activities or preparation for bargaining
  • Assist in employee engagement surveys
  • Assist with Employee performance and relations initiatives
