A team of Schulich MBA students will develop a comprehensive plan for your Indian market expansion. They will identify key strategic issues, then conduct primary research in India by, for example, speaking to potential partners and distributors, interviewing trade commissioners, or meeting with trade associations, and develop a comprehensive and executable market expansion plan.
Learners
Final deliverables include:
- A 40-page business-style report summarizing the assessment and presenting an actionable market expansion plan.
- Research appendices often exceeding 150 pages with summaries of the purpose, the methodology, and the major findings of the research.
- A 20-minute presentation summarizing the research findings, followed by a conversation about the implications for the client company.

Requirements
Limited to 4 Companies!!!
Beginning in May, a team of six to seven Schulich MBA students will spend up to a combined 1,500 total hours completing a comprehensive international market expansion study focusing on India for your company. Based on their in-depth research and analysis, the student-consultants will identify ways to enter the Indian market and provide a detailed implementation plan and an outline of the financial implications.

- The cost is partially subsidized by Schulich and the RBC Financial Group.
Eligibility Criteria: Canadian small- or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in any industry or service are potentially eligible. Ideally, participating companies will have a 5-year history with revenues in access of $5M. Companies that don't meet these criteria, but possess significant growth potential, will also be considered.
Your Commitment
Companies considered for participation will need to agree to:
- Provide access to internal financial data to assess the profitability of the business and individual product lines, customers, market segments, etc. A non-disclosure agreement (NDA) is provided.
- Appoint a liaison person who will be responsible for being the point of contact for the students.
- Allow for reasonable and regular contact between students and company executives (10 to 12 hours total).
- Enable students to contact or survey customers, suppliers and related groups such as agents or distributors, as required
Costs: Thanks to the support of the RBC Financial Group, the cost to candidate companies is only $1,500. This includes all travel expenses.
