A group of 2-4 student-consultants will prepare a strategic marketing plan (researching, analyzing, and providing actionable recommendations) addressing a marketing challenge / opportunity your organization faces

After defining the scope of the project (options above), the students will create a +10-page document outlining your strategic marketing plan, which will be accompanied by samples of marketing materials that you can implement immediately

Project Examples

A group of 2-4 student-consultants will prepare a strategic marketing plan (researching, analyzing, and providing actionable recommendations) addressing a marketing challenge / opportunity your organization faces.  They will conduct research, analyze the issue, and provide actionable recommendations. Project scopes can include, but are not limited to: 

  • Company Marketing Plan
  • New Product Marketing Plan
  • Event Marketing Plan
  • Digital Marketing Strategy
  • Feasibility Study
  • Market Segmentation 
  • Marketing Audit & Recommendations
  • Market Intelligence Studies
  • Online Opportunities & Content
  • Market Research Study
  • Branding 

These students are part of a course called 'Marketing Practicum', where they have the opportunity to apply the knowledge they learned over their marketing education to a real business situation. Over 200 projects have been done under the banner of this course, and many firms have benefited from the directed study of senior students and the marketing consultancy provided.

Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Be available to brief students (1-2 hours) (virtual, phone, or in person) in order to make sure the students fully understand your organization, industry and your needs (May 23, 3:30pm-5:30pm PST

Be responsive to periodic emails to answer any questions or concerns that the student(s) may have as they progress

Be available for monthly check-ins with the students

Be available for the final presentation (in-person or virtual) on August 1, 3:30pm - 6:00pm PST

Provide a Riipen skill rating/evaluation and additional evaluation form on student performance upon completion of the project (due by August 15)

Provide up to $300 to the students to cover any expenses (printing, etc)
