CascadesFS Media Project

Cascades Financial Solutions Inc. (CascadesFS) is a Canadian software start-up that has created an all-in-one retirement income and estate planning tool available to Canadians. The focus of CascadesFS is optimizing an individual’s retirement income whether that means maximizing long-term retirement income or maximizing the expected estate value for a known retirement income level. CascadesFS performs this optimization by testing different priorities of drawdown for the individual’s personal investments and selecting the one that best suits the individual’s goals. Our software can save Canadians thousands of dollars during retirement, and has been featured in The Globe and Mail, Financial Post and Investment Executive. CascadesFS is proud to have partnered with PureFacts Financial Solutions, a leader in the Canadian Fin-tech (Financial Technology) industry. Cascades is an Artificial Intelligent (AI) driven calculator for retirement income planning that is designed to maximize the withdrawal strategy and to provide the best tax saving options for clients. We are contemplating ideas and approaches to attract a larger audience. With this being said, perspective and insight regarding techniques will be critical for this project. Together we are contemplating ideas and approaches regarding our pricing model. We find the recurring revenue pricing strategy more appealing because it will establish a regular, and predictable income stream for our business. Our project requirements are as follows: Determine value-based pricing: · Analyze price adjustment strategies across Canada such as discount and allowances pricing, segmented pricing, promotional pricing, dynamic pricing and geographic pricing · Assess customer needs and values perceptions · Pricing to match customer perceived values · Delivering value at target price The strategy should focus on and must include the following: · Value-based pricing such as: Value-added pricing for example, developing a strategy that features added value to the market offering rather than cutting the price vs Good-value pricing for example everyday low price (EDLP) · Analyze comparable pricing models

CascadesFS- Adapting to the United States

We are looking to start adapting CascadesFS to the United States financial planning market. We would like to explore the similarities and difference with respect to the following: Income Tax Brackets – A comparison of Federal and State/Provincial brackets Income Tax Deductions – Research and develop a comprehensive list of basic income tax deductions available in the U.S. Registered Savings Vehicles – Research and compare the U.S. counterparts for RRSPs, TFSA, Group Savings Non-Registered Savings Vehicles – Summarize how the taxation of Interest, Dividends, and Capital Gains may be treated differently in the U.S. Government Social Plans – Research and compare the U.S. Social Security apparatus and its mechanics. Furthermore, if time allows, we would like participants to research and compare the similarities and differences of various income tax concepts such as: Income Splitting Rules between spouses before and after age 65 The income thresholds (if any) with regard to the reduction of government social benefits Inheritance and gift taxes The research of these topics will be of great benefit to our organization as it prepares to broaden its horizons south of the border.
