Propeller UX/UI Analysis & Recommendations
Propeller is an action platform that incentivizes engagement by offering users points for completing various actions on behalf of nonprofit partners. Those points can then be used as currency to redeem rewards or entries into sweepstakes. The platform and functionality have evolved and expanded since we first launched the company four years ago. There's a lot going on for a new user to digest. And we know from experience that most users aren't returning to the platform (or even using their points). But what we don't know is exactly why and we'd love some insight into how we can improve the overall experience. We would like students to evaluate how effective our site is at telling the story of Propeller and explaining how it works. We'd also like to know what the pain points are for new users, how the process can be improved, and ways in which we can increase user retention along with overall engagement. We are particularly interested in the following areas: Is it clear how Propeller's point system works? What are the navigation challenges users face in discovering actions, cause, and rewards? Describe the onboarding experience and how you think it could be improved What functionality is unclear? Not working properly? Could be improved? What are the strengths and weakness of the overall design? How would you describe the site's aesthetic and how could it be improved? What functionality do similar sites have that we would do well to emulate? Ultimately, we'd like any team competing to deliver a list of recommendations along with their analysis.
Virtual Internship Opportunity: Graphic Designer
Propeller is offering a virtual internship opportunity to one (1) student to get hands-on experience creating graphics for our campaigns, paid promotion efforts, the website, and designing reports and decks. The primary areas of focus for the student (or team) will be: Campaign Assets - Take partner assets and artwork to create unique campaign assets, including animated GIFs, banners, and other content. Ad Content - Create ad content for use in our paid promotion efforts. Report & Deck Design - Design reports for our partners as well as help design decks for business development and new product offerings. Website Design - Create banner images and other elements for use on the website. Our goal at the end of this experience is: Content drives everything for our platform. The better the content, the better the results. We’re looking for a designer to continue building off of our history of strong design elements and help us increase overall performance on the site and through our paid promotion efforts. Other duties the student may complete could include: Creating a style guide for the company. We will plan to communicate with our virtual intern using these communication tools: The student will be provided with a Propeller G Suite account that will include an email address (Gmail) and access to shared files (Drive). They will also be added to our Asana account (task management) as well as our company Slack channel. Internal and external meetings are conducted via Zoom. Student's primary contact: Ben Kroetz, Director of Campaigns & Operations Secondary contact: Brandon Deroche, Founder & CEO
