Description

Over the last 30+ years, this private non-profit College has educated over 40,000 adult learners. Put simply, we are a student-centered institution. By this, we mean that all decisions are made in our students’ long-term best interest. We are proud to say that we have achieved among the highest student program completion rates in Alberta (over 80%) and our students have achieved higher than average marks on academic national exams.

Columbia’s unique approach to adult education is designed to help ensure that employers are able to hire individuals who are not only able to perform their duties and responsibilities but are better able to solve work-related problems, communicate more effectively, make important workplace decisions, interact more effectively as team members, and work more collaboratively with other professionals in the best interest of their internal customers (fellow employees) and external customers (patients, clients, students, and colleagues).

Digital Content Creation

This project can either include individual students (2-3), or a team of students: (up to 3 teams of 3-4 students). We would like students to help us with creating content that is aligned with our vision, mission, and sector for the Human Services Professional program at Columbia College. We will ensure the student has a clear understanding of what these elements are for our organization. The Human Services Professional program at Columbia College is a 2 year diploma that is offered in an accelerated delivery model where students can complete in 52 weeks. The program has currently moved to virtual classes, and is open to learners all over Alberta and across Canada. We are looking for creative and innovative ways to market this program to potential students within Calgary, as well as outside of Calgary. To accomplish this, we expect the student(s) will:Write blog articles, email newsletters/sequences and other content pieces on assigned topicsAssist with a social media video launch to promote our organizationHelp develop a testimonial wall for the Human Services Professional program's websiteEvaluate recent successful user-generated campaigns, preferably in our sectorIdentify media outlets that are most beneficial to share our storyAssist in the review, design, and development (where possible) of the Human Services Professional web page to align with applicable marketing strategies and toolsUltimately, you will be working on content creation for our organization, including video, social media, and other collateral that we can use as go-to marketing tools. If you like the sound of our culture, and are ready to tackle this challenge with us, then we'd love to hear from you.A student or team with excellent writing and video skills would be the ideal candidate for this project.

Marketing SOS

Looking for a team of students to create and implement a province wide marketing plan to increase enrollment in the following programs: Academic Upgrading, Transportation and Warehouse, Accounting Assistant, Trades Preparation and Level 1 Early Childhood Educator. Markets we would like to target are: guidance counsellors at rural high schools, admission advisors at rural community colleges, rural WCB and EI offices, rural settlement agencies, rural youth employment and employment agencies along with local community police officers and libraries. I'm hopeful that although we are not located in Ontario, our request is of interest and selected. We are a small non-profit college that focuses on training minority, low income and disadvantaged learners. Currently, we only market our grant funded programs within the city of Calgary. Since COVID-19, our enrollment in these programs has slowly plummeted. Now that we have expanded to online learning, we'd like to market to rural areas of Alberta. Our online training is unique as students log into Microsoft Teams daily from 9-2:00 or 9:30-2 (depending on the program). Our facilitators are connected to the students, face-to-face throughout the duration of the day. It's essentially an online classroom. Because our programs are grant funded and learners are not required to work through materials independently, we truly believe in the quality of our product, the quality of our staff and believe there's an interest to a wider population. Unfortunately, our College is small and we do not have a formal marketing department to help me with this request. Thank you for your consideration! I would be extremely grateful for your students' assistance.
