Video Creation - Creative Media
We have multiple video channels on YouTube and would love to work with a student group to create video content for them. We are very open to the different styles and types of videos that could be created. Screen recordings / Walkthroughs of different topics Face to camera - more edited video on a topic Behind-the-camera style Interview style videos Animations We would like to collaborate with students to create more video content in any of these styles over various topics. We have the following YouTube channels we could work on - https://www.youtube.com/user/ProfileTree Mainly screen records of how to improve and use your website and anything related - 4million views, 1,200 videos, 125k subs Students could do a talk through on anything related to software they use from adobe to anything! https://www.youtube.com/@profiletreedigital more face-to-camera and personal on the topics of digital and traditional marketing 300 videos 14.5k subs, 200k views Students could try and show a bit more polish on this channel and its focus is anything marketing https://www.youtube.com/@ConnollyCove travel and tourism content - faceless and we now use AI voice to dub over! We are trying to video the world - hence students could film their local area, edit and add voice or ai voice over. 1.9k videos, 100k subscribers, 10million views. https://www.youtube.com/@AmazingFoodandDrink More technical - we interview food and drink producers and let them tell their story. Students could create a view on any local food establishment. We could also do short form video for any of these channels - possibly the most important video skills today. The aim of the project is to create a scope and a video or two that could be published on any of these channels. The students then have published work to showcase.
Content Strategy Review - Content Creation - Content Editing - Marketing Plan
We would like to work with student teams to review our content or marketing strategy on one of our websites, which could include reviewing content quality, marketing plans, keywords, SEO, and even creating or editing content, depending on their skill set. We could look at our overall strategy or focus on one brand as a team or individual. There are many ways we could approach these brands - we could brainstorm in a discovery call and finalise a project scope that would work for the students. Our company operates multiple websites spanning diverse sectors, including business, education, technology, travel, sports, etc. As we expand our digital presence, we are eager to partner with marketers with a range of skills to help us enhance/augment these brands. These brands serve as our in-house testing ground, where we trial innovative marketing strategies, extract valuable insights, and subsequently implement these learnings into our commercial services. They also move us closer to a media company. If one of these test brands "pops", we roll it out into its own company. This initiative has led to the creation of a flourishing educational company, employing 10 people, complete with a dedicated management team. With over 1,500+ articles and a popular YouTube channel, this company, which started as one of these experimental projects, now offers free resources and sells courses via e-commerce. The company that started as a test project - but is now a company is - A children's educational website with 1k+ articles and a popular Kids' YouTube with 100k+ subscribers where we provide free resources and sell courses through e-commerce. Our main website that generates leads and sales for us is our own website - Our main Web Design Agency website has 1.5k+ articles and resources; we generate leads for our agency from this. We have 1,200+ resource videos on YouTube with 125k+ subscribers that also bring in leads. This is supported by a second digital marketing YouTube channel So, creating digital brands really does work. While this development has been more an accident than a plan - we have never created a marketing plan for this brand or reviewed how it has been to date. Instead, our approach was to "create helpful content", and the internet would take care of the rest. This may have worked in the days of less competition - but it is harder today. New Brand Examples we are testing now include - A travel website where we generate revenue from advertising and selling video clips of travel destinations as well as test what works on Instagram with this channel Food Website and YouTube Cars Website and YouTube Technology Website Movies Website , Luxury Website and more! We would love to work on our content strategy . Is our strategy focused on the target customer? What is our content like - i.e. is it helpful enough? Does it answer the questions and build a good relationship with prospects? How are our keywords and more SEO-related elements? It could be used to connect with budding writers or content creators looking to enhance their digital writing portfolio and gain practical insights into how content impacts online visibility and performance. This could be improving our current resources or adding their own spin on relevant topics. Marketers who might help us with brand positioning, tone of voice or marketing plans for these new brands - we have NONE of this for any of them! This does impact the consistency of voice on the brand - it does not help our writers nor give us a clear direction forward. Social Media Marketers - many of the brands have no social activity. Much like many small businesses, they are operating - but have no clear plan for social media. Where to focus, how to focus, and what content will work? Or review our brands that have social media activity and provide some external feedback on how we are doing, as well as ideas for better growth. Marketing Strategy / Plan - We have no targeting, customer persona, or established market segmentation strategy to effectively identify and communicate with our desired audience groups. These are all active brands that, when our digital agency team has downtime, they would write content for or work on the website and more. If we have students on placement, they would create videos and content and help with them. If we are keen to test a new idea or feature - we test it on these brands to see the impact. Hence, we do have a good data set and information available. We will implement any piece of work provided - to see the impact.
Website Launch Technical Checklist
We are a web design and development agency delivering approximately 3 new websites a month to clients. We have a basic launch checklist, but I feel it is missing the "industry-leading" factor. It is "ok", and we can launch a website with it today. But I feel it is a checkbox exercise. We do not have measures in it for each element - ie what we should achieve per point. We definitely can add more focus on performance, compliance with security and data collection and much more we possibly have never considered. For example, Google provides detailed guidelines on the best website - but it is buried in a lot of content and not in the format of a detailed checklist. We feel if we can greatly enhance a final launch technical checklist for our websites - this would force our team to raise their standard, and also allow us to deliver world-class websites for our clients. We could also develop a certification that we could provide with each website we deliver to "certify" it meets our very high standards on x, y,z. While we are based in the UK, we have clients around the world and see this as an opportunity to continue to broaden our global view as well as make connections in Australia.
Business Strategy - Impact of AI on a Business - Strategic Change
In the transformative era of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the creative industry (as are others) is experiencing a rapid paradigm shift. Web Design and Marketing Agencies are among the sectors at the crux of this revolution. The main goal of this project is to dissect, understand, and strategize around the influx of AI in the creative industry. The project will require learners to: Conduct a thorough analysis of AI's implications on the creative sectors, specifically focusing on content creation, web design, photography, and video production. Identify the key drivers behind the shift towards AI, assessing its impact on both business operations and client needs. Develop a comprehensive report detailing the evolution of the industry, and how AI technologies are reshaping the competitive landscape. The centrepiece of the project will be helping us devise a multi-dimensional strategy that will allow us to adapt and thrive in the AI-driven future successfully. This strategy may cover: Service Evolution: A proposal for innovating and redefining our service offerings in light of AI technology. How can we best integrate AI into our services to deliver unparalleled value to our clients? Employee Upskilling: A roadmap for enhancing our team's skills and capabilities, to ensure our workforce stays relevant and competent in an AI-dominated environment. What are the key areas of development we should focus on? New Business Opportunities: An exploration of untapped opportunities that AI might present. Can we identify new services, client segments, or partnerships that we should consider? Mindset: We have team members reluctant to use AI, some who dismiss it and some who are using it daily in their job roles. We will need to address this digital transformation mindset within our business as well. By the end of the project, we aim to have a robust, dynamic strategy that not only prepares us for the ongoing AI revolution but positions us as pioneers in the space. This strategy will enable us to navigate through these industry shifts, capitalize on new opportunities, and continue providing exceptional value to our clients. For a college and its students, this project presents a thrilling opportunity to dive into one of the most exciting and disruptive trends of our time. A project that is possibly relevant in many industries - not just ours. Participants will gain invaluable hands-on experience in strategic thinking, trend analysis, and innovation management. They'll play a critical role in steering our business through a major industry transition - a powerful experience for any future business leader or strategist. Furthermore, their contributions will have lasting impacts on our business and our clients, adding a real-world impact to their academic journey. We propose we publish any work from this project on our website - as we expect it will also help many of our clients and others struggling on this journey, giving full credit to all parties involved. We expect it to be a section we will branch off our About Us page - as it is the biggest change that has happened to our industry since the internet started. The above are my thoughts on this - of course, a project team may have other ideas on how to approach this, which of course, we are fully open to. **Attached is an image of a content agency that had 100 employees and lost 75% of revenue by Feb 23 - by July 23 it is liquidated**
Enhancing Cybersecurity: Audit, Penetration Testing, and Training
The goal of this project is to improve the Cybersecurity of our company. We have our own risks as a business - but also our clients, who we would love to upskill. ProfileTree is a leading Web Design and Development Agency with clients around the world. We develop high-performing websites for clients - as well as have our own portfolio of websites. The project could be split into 4 main components we would love to tackle in different projects / with different teams (I am NOT a cybersecurity expert - hence open to anything that would help us improve this critical area for the digital world today!) : Cybersecurity Audit Checklist: Students could develop a comprehensive cybersecurity audit checklist that our team can use quarterly to self-assess and enhance our security measures. This checklist should cover various aspects of cybersecurity, including network security, information security, application security, and operational security. Upon completion, we aim to publish this checklist on our website and share it with our clients, serving as a valuable resource for anyone interested in improving their cybersecurity. Penetration Testing: We would appreciate assistance in conducting a 'pen test' on our website. This process involves simulating a cyber attack to identify vulnerabilities in our system that a hacker could exploit. We are particularly interested in any feedback, advice, or coding solutions that can help us further fortify our website's security. The knowledge gained from this exercise will also be applied to the websites we develop for our clients, thereby enhancing their cybersecurity as well. Cybersecurity Training Module: Finally, we believe that security awareness among our team members is crucial in maintaining a robust cybersecurity posture. To this end, we would like assistance in developing a beginner-friendly training module to educate our team about basic cybersecurity practices. This resource will also be made freely available on our website for our clients and the public to use. Resource Creation / Cybersecurity Resource Hub: The team could help us populate a dedicated section of our website with a wealth of cybersecurity content. This could include educational articles, up-to-date news, guides, statistics, and case studies related to cybersecurity. The aim is to provide an engaging and informative space where visitors, including our own customers, can educate themselves about the importance of cybersecurity, understand current threats and trends, and access resources to help them improve their own security measures. This project offers students a unique opportunity to apply and expand their knowledge in a real-world setting while making a significant contribution to cybersecurity awareness and readiness at our business. As mentioned - we are open to other ideas in cybersecurity that we have not considered. Project Output: At the end of this project, we hope to have a number of student groups help us create the following: A comprehensive cybersecurity audit checklist that businesses can use for self-assessment A detailed report from a penetration test conducted on our website, with recommendations and potential solutions for identified vulnerabilities An engaging and easy-to-understand cybersecurity training module for team members and the wider public Cybersecurity resources, guides, how-to - basics for a business owner to understand. Through this project, we aim to enhance our cybersecurity measures, help other businesses do the same, and foster a culture of cybersecurity awareness within our team and the wider community. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: - Conducting a security audit of the existing systems and networks. - Developing a comprehensive security plan for the company. - Identifying and assessing potential security risks. - Make suggestions on implementing security measures such as firewalls, antivirus software, and encryption. - Developing policies and procedures to ensure the security of the company's data. - Helping train staff on security protocols and best practices. In 2022 we engaged an external CyberSecurity company that audited our business and supported us with implementing security measures, including software and other aspects of improvement. We appreciate this is a student project, but do still believe that "fresh eyes" and ideas will only add to what we have done and plan to do in-house - thus, we will add another valuable lawyer to what we are doing in this area.
Small Business Sustainability Audit & Resources
We have a popular business website and a large client base of small businesses, most of whom have not considered sustainability until now. We want to help them with this. We are hoping to partner with a talented team who can create resources and checklists for small businesses, which they could download from our website and complete an internal sustainability audit. We would like to support this with some text about what is a sustainability audit, how to complete one, and any other areas that might be of use. This is such a fast-changing area and becoming more and more important to all of us. Our objective is to leverage your expertise in creating a repository of resources, guides, and checklists designed for small businesses. This content will assist them in conducting their internal sustainability audits. The resources should be straightforward and user-friendly, enabling businesses with little or no knowledge of sustainability practices to begin their journey toward a more environmentally friendly operation. Given the dynamic nature of sustainability, these resources should include not only the fundamental principles but also the latest trends and strategies in sustainable business practices. Ideally, the content will provide clarity on what a sustainability audit is, the steps involved in conducting one, and the value it can bring to their business. Our ultimate vision is a dedicated 'Sustainability Resource Center' on our website. Here, users will find a comprehensive guide on conducting a sustainability audit, an overview of various sustainability frameworks, and actionable advice on how small businesses can transition towards more sustainable practices. Additionally, we hope to provide one or more actual audit templates that businesses can directly download and use within their operations. These could also be transformed into interactive digital checklists on our website for ease of use. All resources will be open for use and free of charge, with due credit given to the student team for their valuable contributions. While our team will take care of the web and design work, we need your expertise in generating the core content and shaping it to suit our audience. We anticipate this project will involve a blend of planning, research, content creation, checklist/framework development, and project management. Together, we aim to support countless small businesses in their initial steps toward becoming more sustainable, thereby making a significant positive impact on our planet.
Business Insights - Market Research - Analytics - Content Creation
Our company provides digital marketing services to b2b customers around the world. We would like to understand if we are positioning ourselves and advertising our services in the best way possible. We feel we need to conduct a review of what small businesses are seeking in digital, what their challenges are, their problems and their pain points. We would not have completed a review like this in many years; digital has changed, and now with AI - the pace and challenges facing small businesses have never been bigger. Hence we feel it would be beneficial to work with a team of students to help us complete market research and understand what is happening in the current b2b landscape around digital adoption - from social media to websites. We want to better understand our target market and the overall market, so we can uniquely position ourselves within our industry. We believe this partnership would involve several different steps for the students, including: Familiarising themselves with our company’s values, products and services. Researching our target market and market potential. Researching the industry and competitive landscape. Recommending strategies to improve our positioning, brand, products and services. Recommending strategies to differentiate ourselves from our competition. We would be very happy to amend and align this project to the course and student skills as we feel any insight would be incredibly beneficial. We do sell across the USA at a small scale - and would like to grow our base there. We are also aware that what happens in the USA today in small business / digital - makes it way around the world in the 1-2 years after this; hence getting any insight - may prove even more beneficial as we make strategic decisions for our business moving forward. For example, we, as a digital agency, face the threat of AI tools replacing some if not all of our core services today. We need to be quick and adapt today to be relevant tomorrow. We would be very happy to publish the finished report on our website and list all the students involved as contributors.
Software Development - Computer Science Project
We are a web design and development agency with a team of 30 staff. It is a competitive space, and we must be innovative to stand out. Hence thinking a bespoke software solution could help us in our operation or support our marketing efforts. Some ideas we had were - A website sustainability/carbon footprint checker. We have a web page that anyone can enter their website, and we crawl it and give an estimate of their carbon footprint. On-Page SEO tool - that analyses a web page for key factors such as title tags, meta descriptions, header tags, keyword usage, image alt text, and URL structure. We also have our own list of things to check on a page. We would have this public, and anyone could use it. A custom WordPress Plugin that provides a traffic light system for content on a page. We have added a basic checklist to our websites - but it does not auto-update as we edit the page. We build a lot of websites in WordPress. Help create a base template that we could automate the process of creating a new core site, thus saving us time every build. A custom Keyword Gap Tool / Chatbot Content Planner - that would integrate Google's Keyword Planner API, ChatGPT, and a database for storing the keyword data. We would keep this private. Creating a tool that translates Google Analytics 4 (GA4) data to be more like Universal Analytics (GA3) Sadly, we do not get clear user data from GA4 - hence creating a new dashboard on top of GA4 data would be well received. Website cost calculator - we could embed on our website with multiple options. We could possibly roll it into other services as well - ie video production. Website Usability Tester - would be an excellent project and so important today Website accessibility tester - again very important to website performance Responsive Website design tester - the most important aspect of any website development. We would be delighted to be able to create any of these. At the moment, we use commercial software or create the actions detailed manually.
Marketing Plan for Small Business for new Market Launch
We are a digital maketing agency in Belfast, Northern Ireland. A lot of our clients have an aim to sell into the USA market We would love to create resources for small businesses that we could add to our website to help them understand the USA market - ideally, statistics and an overview of the market. We would love to create a resource area where we have published: Review of the new market - USA Any statistics on the market Any guide to the best media types in the market Regional differences across the USA Sucess stories - brands that have "made it" in the USA Anything else we can add All resources will be open and free for anyone to use (we get 40k monthly visits to our website) All resources will be created to the student creators. It is a real requirement - sadly we do not have the market knowledge - we can look from afar and review keywords and search traffic, but are limited to this.
Sustainability Review
We are a digital marketing agency and sustainability is critical today and for the future. We would like someone to help us review our current status around sustainability Research what we can and should do Create a report / guide for us to follow
Marketing Plan to Launch our Brand in North America
Review our current marketing assets and performance Review the opportunity for our UK digital agency to "break into" the North American market Develop a plan to help us identify the best routes to market - the cost and possible impact of these methods. We do have US clients currently - but it is 0.5% of our client base, we would like to grow it to 20% over the next 3 years. Our service can be offered globally and we are very competitive on price. We have a well-established brand in our own local market and have an in-house marketing team who can implement it. We are brave and would like to publish the plan on our website - as a resource for other companies to try and break into the North American market and we will follow the plan and update the report as to how we get on. We tend to share a lot of our experience online and document for our clients. This provides incredible social proof and interesting "real" content.
Content Writing - Content Creation - Journalism - Marketing Plan

While this development has been more an accent than a plan - we have never created a marketing plan for this brand or reviewed how it has been to date.
