Life Sciences Work Placement
BIOU9PL
Hosting a placement will help develop the skills of future employees and help provide skilled graduates for the life sciences industry. Typically, companies benefit directly from hosting a placement through undertaking a small project while students are often motivated team members, providing opportunities for early career stage employees to have a management, mentoring or leadership opportunity. Many companies also offer the students summer and part-time jobs while they continue their studies and this is of great mutual benefit. Hosting a placement allows companies to enhance their links with the University e.g. through provision of guest lectures, use of research facilities, commercial laboratories or through research and development.
