Julie Thompson didn't like studying Spanish in school. But, she plugged away at it anyway, never dreaming that she would spend the rest of her life speaking, writing, reading and teaching it! She interrupted her college studies to begin volunteer work, working with English and Spanish speakers, and hasn't stopped yet. When she moved to South America, she added yet another language to the list: Ecuadorian Quichua.
Currently she is the owner of ESEN Translation Services, a minority/woman owned small business, offering language services in English, Spanish and Ecuadorian Quichua. These include translation, interpretation, proofreading, transcription, editing and language learning. In 2011, she published the book, "Wanna Go Where?", a guide for moving abroad. “Olivia and The Mush”, the first in a series of children's stories, based on her aunt's two Russian Blue cats, was published in 2016. Currently, she is working on a new book: “I’m Too ________ to Learn Another Language”. - Companies

ESEN ESL Course Manual Development - Service industries
ESEN Translation Services is launching a new series of ESL (English as a Second Language) courses tailored for service industry companies in New York City. Such industries would include, but not be limited to: healthcare, food service, cleaning, construction and gardening. The objective of this project is to transform rough curriculum drafts into comprehensive teacher and student manuals. These manuals will serve as essential guides for instructors and learners, ensuring a consistent and effective learning experience. The project provides an opportunity for learners to apply their skills in curriculum development, instructional design, and technical writing. By working on this project, learners will gain practical experience in creating educational materials that are both engaging and informative. The project is designed to be completed by a team of learners from a single academic program, such as education or applied linguistics, within a time frame of 40-80 hours, depending on the number of weekly classes taught, as well as the particular weekly time frame requested.

Demographical research
Greetings! We are a small language services agency located in Brooklyn, New York, offering six language services (translation, interpretation, transcription, proofreading, editing and language instruction) in six languages (English, Spanish, French, Haitian Creole, Chinese and Ecuadorian Kichwa). The latter language is spoken throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, including Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland, as well as in Chicago and Minneapolis. The purpose of this project is to create a marketing map of areas where this language population is present, in order to create marketing campaigns that would reach this virtually untouched market.

Student handbook for introductory 5-lesson Spanish course
Hello, Content Creator! My name is Julie Thompson. My company, ESEN Translation Services, under the sponsorship of the East New York Restoration Local Development Corporation, launched a free five-lesson introductory Spanish course in June, open to community residents. The students really enjoyed the class. However, I had not had a student handbook for them to use. After the class, in preparation for future classes, I did work one up, for their exclusive use. I'd like to have you take the handbook that I provided them with, and turn it into a ESEN-branded handbook, with cutout exercises, puzzles, etc. I would provide you with a confidential copy of the handbook that I've already designed.
