Bio

I am a first year PhD student in Gender Studies at Queen's University. My graduate research utilizes a transnational and intersectional feminist theoretical framework to interrogate the social, political, and economic dimensions of prescribed economic precarity experienced by single mothers in Toronto. I trace patterns of emigration as facilitated by globalization as a valid response to financial hardship, and explore suggestions for reorienting public policy towards a recognition of the nuances associated with the lived realities of single mothers in Toronto.

Optimizing Volunteer Management

The main goal of this project is to optimize ODLAN's onboarding process for new volunteers. This is part one of a two-part project. Part one involves creating a system that will walk volunteering through an onboarding process that familiarizes them with ODLAN's mission, mandate, and current project. Phase two focuses on optimizing volunteer participation, by creating a process for volunteers to register for ODLAN teams and projects within those teams.
