Dataset Generator enhancements

DPAS is seeking to enhance an existing Java-based time series dataset generator, initially developed in early 2023. The project aims to implement additional features to improve the dataset's functionality for industrial data analytics applications. Students will be tasked with revising the existing codebase to incorporate these new features, which will be provided upon engagement. The project will utilize agile methodologies, specifically employing Jira for feature management, to ensure a structured and efficient development process. The code is hosted on GitHub, providing an opportunity for students to gain practical experience in version control and collaborative coding. This project offers a valuable chance for learners to apply their Java programming skills and agile project management knowledge in a real-world setting.

Dataset Generator, upgrade

In February 2023, work on the Riipen project "Datset Generator" began. The code generates a configurable time series dataset used in industrial data analytics applications. It was completed May 2023 and was very successful. Now, there are some additional features requested. We would like a student to revise the Java code to implement the new features. A feature list will be provided once the student is engaged. We would like to use an agile tool like Jira to manage the feature list. The code is in GitHub. I am looking forward to a fun and interesting project working with you.

Dataset Generator

I have developed a way to generate a dataset for modeling paper final product quality. I need such a tool for the work I am doing at Pulmac. It uses Excel and VBA, and it works. The downside is that it is very inefficient; it can take over a day to generate a dataset. I am looking for someone to partner with to take what I have designed and develop it in a more efficient and usable way. I think a dataset generator such as this could provide a lot of benefit to industry and academia: - It would reduce the need to obtain proprietary data from a paper mill - It could be used for training and education of students in data analytics - It can be used for testing data analytics techniques and model prediction - It can be used by industry for demonstration of data analytics and automation solutions My thought is to partner with students on a design project to help develop this tool, present the project at at industry trade show in April, and have this be an open-source tool for anyone to use.
