Cybersecurity: Diagnose & Remediate Vulnerabilities or Policy & Compliance Review

CYB499

May 13, 2024 - Aug 4, 2024

The National University Cybersecurity department is looking to build ongoing relationships with employers. We are proud to be recognized by the National Security Agency (NSA) as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense through 2028. Projects that we'd like to match with generally fall within these 3 categories:Diagnose vulnerabilities through pen testing, thread analysis or mobile forensicsRemediate vulnerabilities that were identified in Project Type 1. Some student teams may be able to do both 1 and 2, but we've found that often, the remediation will need to be done by a future student cohort.Evaluate a company's existing Cybersecurity policy and propose updates that will bring the company in line with federal, state and industry mandates. In cases where a policy doesn't exist, our student teams can draft a policy for approval. All capstone projects integrate the concepts of cybersecurity and information assurance taught throughout the program. Project management techniques and collaboration will be emphasized along with the ethical and legal aspects of the project. Students will work on one main project over the course of three months, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.Project Flow:Month 1 - PlanningMonth 2 - ExecutionMonth 3 - Complete project and outbrief

Business Plan Development - BS in Financial Management Capstone

FIN456

Flexible

Students can develop business plans which can be used to acquire capital and to guide operations. An important element of a successful plan is to demonstrate the viability of the venture. A business plan usually includes a clear statement of the nature of a business venture, the business opportunity, the steps to be taken to capitalize on the opportunity, and the financial requirements. For acquiring capital, the business plan creates a clear, coherent, persuasive argument on behalf of the business. For guiding the operations, the plan is also clear and coherent as it provides specific guidance for the business. Please note: Projects will be a better match for our students when the industry sponsor already knows the opportunity and is looking for student consultants to vet an existing idea rather than having students come up with the product idea or market niche on their own.
