Bio

I am an aspiring cosmetic chemist currently enrolled in a general sciences program, and I ultimately want to acquire a bachelor's degree in Microbiology. The study of life fascinates me, especially the study of bacteria and how these microorganisms play such a significant role in our everyday lives. After co-leading a wellness club in 12th grade in high school, I am looking for other opportunities to create or lead and be able to call it my own work. As a student who is exploring their options, I used to volunteer at a pharmacy and found that it was not for me, so I am currently seeking laboratory work or research. Outside of academics and volunteer work, I enjoy cooking and baking, taking dance classes spending time with my pet bird, and learning Japanese.

Biotechnology Market Research

We want to better understand the global markets for 3D bioprinting, bioinks, and tissue models so we can uniquely position ourselves within our industry. To do this, we want to conduct deep market research and analysis of recent trends. The research will include:Target market research Industry size and market potential Competitive landscapeGlobal supply chain research An example of a market report you may read would be: 'Bioinks: The Living Foundation of Functional Bioprinting' published by BCC research. We will provide you with recent globally recognized market reports to analyze involving these topics, and are open to you including any additional research you may find interesting! Depending on your familiarity with market research, biology, and reading speed, hours may vary to complete each market report. We will support you at your own pace and provide more resources as necessary. Although background knowledge in biology would be useful, it is not required to understand the reports. Before starting this project we will give you a full overview of our company and the technology behind our products. We will review an older market report together and explore what details we are looking for you to highlight. Our team will be here to support you if you have any technical or business related questions. We are a remote-first team, using Slack to communicate.DELIVERABLESAfter reading and analyzing the reports, we ask that you create a comprehensive summary that highlights your important findings. Please include figures, images, and statistics given in the market reports. It is important to cite your information, so we understand which market report it came from. Citations can be provided in your summary footnotes. This summary can be written using any program, and submitted as a PDF.

Human Potential Research Project

Number of individual positions available: up to 4We are a business and personal performance consulting and coaching firm that works with CEO's, executives, entrepreneurs, business owners and professionals. This project will entail researching the scientific and psychological elements of getting into the "flow" or "zone." This is a state of optimal performance. Essentially, it's the ability for the average person to have optimal execution, productivity and results. Going from Clark Kent to Superman. We are able to take on up to 4 students.Students will be researching and compiling strategies for individuals to have optimal performance levels. They'll also be answering questions such as: how does a person get into the zone? How long can a person stay in the zone? What elements are required to optimize the zone? The research must be sound and from credible sources. The end product is a "how to" guide for getting into the zone. The purpose is to provide managers and individuals with a guide to optimize personal performance in the workplace, sports and even at home. The students will surely learn how to optimize their own performance along the way.

HPLC Setup

The main goal of the project is to calibrate an HPLC (high-pressure liquid chromatograph) device so that it becomes prepared for a 2-year long research project. "Calibration" is a term normally used in science to describe an experiment for which the expected results are known in advance. To clarify, the project we are offering here involves only the calibration - it does not include the two years of research that come after the calibration. Our company has recently acquired an HPLC (high-pressure liquid chromatograph) from Agilent Technologies. This device can separate and identify the various materials or compounds in a tissue sample from, say, an experimental plant (like a celery plant grown in the lab). We are looking for a student to help us with the setup and calibration of this device.Ultimately, the project goal is to find out how different plants react to various synthetic chemicals - but the first step to doing that is to calibrate the HPLC device.
