Social Media and Digital Content Creation

Positions Available: 4 Remote position. The Nikkei Cultural Society of Lethbridge and Area (NCS) is currently looking for a student intern in an undergraduate, graduate, diploma or certificate program in New Media, Multimedia Production, Digital Communications, or related field. We are a non-profit organization that was established in 2001. Our main purpose is to become the central organization in all activities related to Japanese and Japanese Canadian arts, culture and history. Our subcommittee, Bunkahashi, provides events and workshops around geek culture such as anime, games, cosplay etc. We are looking for a student to help us develop, curate and upload engaging content for our social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram) with the objective to increase awareness and engagement for both Bunkahashi and NCS. The primary responsibilities for the successful candidate student will be: · Develop and post engaging content for social media platforms. · Monitor and respond to messages from the public through email and social media platforms. · Update and maintain a web presence. · Write reports on social media analytics and work completed. Other duties the student may complete could include: · Organize and run online media events. Desired Qualifications · Excellent knowledge of Facbook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and other social media best practices. · An understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics. · Knowledge of WordPress and other website management platforms. · Experience using Adobe Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and After Effects. · Creative writing skills and good communications skills. Assets · Experience in hosting live social media feeds. **Must have a reliable computer and internet connection**

Japanese Folklore Animation Series

Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden seeks to enhance its educational outreach by creating a series of engaging videos and animations that delve into Japanese culture and folklore. Learners will utilize their skills in Adobe software to design and produce visually captivating and informative content. The goal is to produce a cohesive series that can be used for educational purposes in the Garden using our 360-degree projection dome and beyond. Project output must be family-friendly.
