You have a passion for manufacturing and continuous improvement, have a sharp analytical and mechanical mindset with a desire to apply them toward real manufacturing challenges. You are a great communicator, and have skills to analyze production risks/challenges and give solutions for identified potential problems. You have the ability to conduct production cost studies from the proposed manufacturing scale up process. You are a positive, and extremely motivated and organized individual who can be self-directed in both team-based and individual settings.ABOUT YOUR TEAMYou are passionate about entrepreneurship, business strategy, manufacturing and production of new products. You’ve got the education, tools, team and support from your professor to assist us building a successful manufacturing scale up project.

Brand Identity and Graphic Design

This project is flexible on how many students work on it.I sold my last company three years ago; it was a manufacturer of Point of Purchase displays. I started the company and ran it for 33 years while working with some of the largest consumer brands in North America. My experience includes brand standards, print production, new product launch, re-imaging existing brands, skilled at communicating with designers ( I had an in-house art department with four designers and two engineers).I have since started a new company that is relying on contract manufacturers to our products. These brands will be are being sold direct in a B2C online, and our focus is tech products to make mundane daily tasks easier and more convenient. Our products are sourced from manufacturers that build exclusively for private label importers like myself. We are tasked with creating our own brand identity for the product. This is an ongoing process; we add products regularly.We are looking for teams that can help amplify what makes us unique and create better messaging for our different product brands. This would include identifying areas of improvement and developing a plan for better promotion and brand awareness. This project may combine research, data analysis, graphic design w/ Sketch or Adobe XD, prototyping, one-page creations and more!We believe this project will require:Research to define our unique brand position and create consistent promotional messagingLogo and/or Name Proposal that highlights brand awareness and brand positioningA branding guideUsing tools like PhotoShop - Video editing programs like Camtasia-layout programs like Canva to design prototypes that can be implemented into our marketing collateral.We will give you access to organizational assets to support this project, such as personnel, website analytics, sales and brand collateral, and more. We can also suggest names of competitors and comparators to research.

Website Development to Launch - Level Up 1.5The Website Developer will work directly with the CEO and Founder Sharon Bonner as Sharon launches a separate service offering of Event Consulting.The student will work with Sharon to plan and build the new website and be directly supervised by Sharon.The student will be working to develop this website and the internship will include some of the tasks below depending on the skill set of the intern.- Plan the page structure architect- Develop a site template theme- Build the website / programming where necessary (10 – 20 pages)- Upload and format your own content- Choose and download apps - Install an e-commerce feature with an e-store- Integrate videos into the website- Include a blog- Include a Portfolio section- Preview and test website- Publish website on the internet- Optimize the website SEOOnce the students are selected, we will make a work plan based on the students skill set.

Hardware Development for Wearable Electronic in Beauty

We are an early-stage startup focused on developing wearable technologies for beauty, currently looking to launch two products: (1) a customizable necklace and (2) press-on nails with LEDs powered through RFID. Customizable eInk necklace:We have developed a basic PCB prototype that requires further optimization. Students will receive all the documentation from the current prototype and will be asked to optimize the system so it can receive the images through NFC at a much faster rate. LED press-on nails powered with RFID:We are looking to develop active RFID bracelets that can light up the NFC-powered LEDs on our press-on nails. The bracelets would have an on/off/intermittent mode and a rechargeable battery. The range of the RFID should be sufficient to reach the fingernails. Alternative versions to the bracelets, such as rings, can be considered based on a study of the range and power of the RFID signal. * NDA's and waivers will be required from the interns undertaking this project.
