I am the course director of the MSc Management at the University of Sussex Business School and convenor of the module “Consultancy Project” which is an optional module offered only on this course. It aims to provide students who are interested in undertaking a different type of dissertation with the opportunity of being involved in addressing a request raised by a real business/ organisation. From this perspective, the “Consultancy Project” is similar to a project prepared by consultants when addressing a client request. The students work in small teams to deliver recommendations and a report to the client, and reflect on their personal experience during the project preparing a poster, a video or a podcast.

Working with the educators on this project was, overall, a great experience for Bird & Blend. From the initial scoping call to the final online presentation, there was clear communication throughout, quick responses to questions and clear expectations. We also really enjoyed meeting Dr Siantonas in person when he came with the students to our offices and he provided a very useful overview of what the students would be doing, ensuring the brief we created was suitable with a follow up description of their understanding which allowed us to clarify a few points about the brief. We were kept informed of progress and offered virtual meetings which was incredibly helpful and meant as many of us could attend as possible. It was great to be included in the feedback and scoring of the students' work and presentations. A really enjoyable experience, thank you!

Students will work on one main project over three months, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Students will work in teams under close supervision.
