Working with the Kids at Risk Action organization was a great pleasure, as all meetings were informational to complete our big-data project successfully.

I had the great experience working under the CEO of KARA (Kids At Risk Action) .

KARA’s journey is a unique experience, 2 teams were allocated to finalize the project, we had weekly meetings with KARA’s CEO Mike. Mike is very generous with his time and feedback. Me and my students will always be proud to be part of the organization cause on highlighting the critical issue of abused and neglected children.

It was an immense pleasure working with KARA team. Our team of researchers helped them with providing them with a layout for social media enchantment strategies.

Being able to help and contribute in a positive way to an organization with such an important social intention as saving children who have suffered in silence, has been a great learning experience for me. My experience with the director of the organization, Mike, has been excellent, I appreciate how he was always available even though I could tell how stressed or busy he was. I admire and value the work he does for these children. Even though the project is over I feel I have a commitment to the organization, I talk about it to people I know and I have encouraged people to donate. Working on this project with Mike was a great experience for me and I hope I have been able to contribute to the organization. Thank you Mike for this amazing opportunity!

Mike is an incredible mentor. You can tell he is passionate about KARA’s mission, and he genuinely wants better for every single child. When you discuss obstacles with him, he is always helpful and constructive. Any time you talk to Mike you feel the urgency of the cause, but his passion and drive is contagious- and like that you’re ready to dive into difficult topics, knowing you’re helping these vulnerable children.

My experience with Mike Tikkanen from Tracking Child Abuse, Trauma and Self-Harm was phenomenal! He was open to discussions and easy to work with. His approach, dedication, and support for the job is greatly appreciated. Overall, Mike and team were very supportive throughout this experience.

Working with Mike and KARA has been a great experience that opened my eyes to the importance of educating and advocating child abuse and neglect. It was a great opportunity and experience. It helped me not only evaluate my educational goals as far as which track to take with my master's degree but also provided me with the push I needed to begin really evaluating my own childhood traumas and will be working on them with my therapist.
