I’ve always enjoyed building things, usually things that pushed the boundaries of my knowledge and abilities. New challenges drive me forward!
For the past 25 years I’ve been building software, from large enterprise and government applications to several successful mobile casual games (I was lead on Plumber Crack of all things!)
For the last 8 years, I’ve been honing my craft, building many custom applications and a handful of SaaS products (a silent auction app, certified online raffles, and a community management platform).
I’ve done just about every job related to product development, from ideation, wireframes, and design to architecture, data modeling, and development, through to marketing, sales, and customer support.
Currently, I'm working on an online course platform that seeks to address poor motivation and completion rates by letting learners work on their own domain-specific challenges with real-time expert feedback with educator-trained AI.

Game Design for Simulation or Resource Management Games
Multibit Solutions Inc. seeks aspiring game designers to develop a compelling game economy within our simulation platform. The project involves defining resources and workflows that are then added to a game world to challenge players with strategic resource allocation decisions. The focus is on creating a balanced and engaging resource-driven gameplay experience without the need for twitch or control-based mechanics. The game's user interface is data-driven from the designed game resources and economy, and available to playtest the design in real time. Participants will apply their classroom knowledge of game design principles to develop a game economy where players must strategically manage resources to achieve specific objectives. The project aims to enhance players' engagement by introducing complex decision-making scenarios that test their strategic thinking and planning skills. Key tasks include defining the game resources that exist within the game and the workflows that transform game state using those resources. Next, participants will define a game world with resources added to game characters and world locations. Then participants define the UI, laying out the HUD for players to interact with the game. As participants design their game, they can also play-test what they've come up with and make changes to their design in real time. Possible game styles: Simulation - e.g. lemonade stand Resource management - e.g. HayDay interactive stories - like single-player dungeon and dragon campaigns, though battle may or may not be supported at the time of this project Game elements supported: Characters - recruit NPCs, option for player to choose their character Gear - required for certain actions, may confer bonuses Skill tree - user chooses their path Attributes (XP, skills, health, stamina) Proficiencies - like skills, but developed by player behavior, not choices Currencies, materials, tokens Factories convert inputs to outputs Harvestable items (e.g., trees for wood, audience for customers) Recipes - for crafting Quests - guide players through the game Collectibles, achievements Lore - much customization available for rich storytelling

UI/UX Redesign for Multibit Solutions' Online Course Platform
Multibit Solutions Inc. has developed a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for their online course platform. The current platform, while functional, requires enhancements in its user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) to increase its attractiveness and usability. The goal of this project is to generate innovative design ideas that can improve the overall look and feel of the platform, making it more engaging and intuitive for users. The project will involve analyzing the existing UI/UX, identifying areas for improvement, and proposing design solutions that align with modern design principles and user expectations. This project provides an opportunity for learners to apply their knowledge of UI/UX design, user research, and prototyping in a real-world context. Conducting background research on our existing web application for the product. We are happy to provide a walkthrough and other resources to help bring them up to speed. Identifying key areas of our current web application and what areas of focus might return the best results in a redesign. Learning and using various software design tools. We strongly recommend students learn how to use Figma as this is the latest and greatest tool currently available. Present two high-level design concepts to inform the direction for the rest of the project Creation of UX/UI designs for key screens, which can be used on all major browsers and be mobile-friendly Conducting UX / UI testing with real potential users potentially involving either the created design prototypes or the upgraded application

AI-Enhanced Online Course Development
Multibit Solutions Inc. is seeking assistance in developing an innovative online course to demonstrate the capabilities of their new online course platform. The project involves three components: ideating a compelling theme for the course, designing and building the course and training an AI model to provide feedback on user responses. The goal is to create an engaging and interactive learning experience that highlights the platform's features. Learners will apply their knowledge of instructional design and AI technologies to develop a course that is both educational and technologically advanced. This project offers a unique opportunity to integrate classroom learning with real-world applications, focusing on the intersection of education and artificial intelligence. - Ideate and select a theme for the online course. - Design course content that aligns with the chosen theme. - Train an AI model to analyze and provide feedback on user responses. - Provide feedback on usability from both instructor and learner perspectives - Ensure the course showcases the platform's interactive capabilities.
