Research Assistant In Data (Name) Collection - UBC Professor Matt Lowe
Number of individual students required: 60 + students The research assistants will support the research initiatives under the guidance of research faculty. In addition, they will have the opportunity to work with UBC Professor Matt Lowe (https://mattlowe.site/). Areas of inquiry including: behavioural economics, labour economics, microeconomics. Professor Lowe's research project hopes to understand the ways in which public figures utilize social media to reflect their values. Currently at the stage of data collection, we are looking for motivated, energized, and hard-working students to gain exposure to research and academia. This stage of the position requires skills in data retrieval and manipulation, along with strong organization and time management abilities. This stage will focus on the name collection aspect of the summer program. The project may include, but is not limited to: Participating in data collection, manipulation, and data storage. Making use of knowledge on the North American academic system to make encoding decisions. Conducting quality checks and ensuring that encoded data is accurate. Attending triweekly meetings and contributing to study methodology and development. Note : The virtual internship will begin in May 2021 and conclude in early July 2021. Only UBC students are eligible to participate.

Researchers will work with the Anahana team to conduct research and/or produce white papers and guides based on the most recent and important peer reviewed research from leading institutes and publications. Ideal candidates will : Be pursuing a degree in neuroscience, or other related fields. Research experience Be comfortable working in a fast moving startup environment A background or interest in wellness is a bonus Ultimately, you will be helping build wellness and mental health education in a variety of formats, for different uses based on your area of expertise and areas of interest. Human Potential - The Neuroscience & Psychology of Motivation
Number of individual positions available: up to 8 We are a business and personal performance consulting and coaching firm that works with CEO's, executives, entrepreneurs, business owners and professionals. This project will entail researching the scientific and psychological elements of motivation. Essentially, it's the ability for the average person to become extremely motivated to achieve their goals We are able to take on up to 8 students. Students will be researching and compiling strategies for individuals to have optimal self-motivation, building better habits and reward systems to stay inspired, etc.. They'll also be answering questions such as: what truly motivates people? What elements are included in motivation and inspiration? What elements are required to stay motivated long-term? What strategies should be used to be better motivated? The research must be sound and from credible sources. The end product is a "how to" guide for creating and maintain motivation. The purpose is to provide managers and individuals with a guide to optimize their levels of motivation in the workplace, sports and even at home with their relationships and personal goals. The students will surely learn how to optimize their own motivation along the way.
