- What is the main goal for this project?

About Company: CUROS
Startup, founder previously grew www.PlayOsmo.com from 5.5mm lifetime rev to 45mm yearly, has gotten 10s of apps to the top 10 and top 50 overall in USA, & China, and was one of Canada's Next 36. Interns would work directly with the founder.
About Product: CardStory
Kids 5-12 create fully animated stories by playing with physical cards. The educational game teaches storytelling, creative confidence, and much more! Launching between late August & early September.
Main Goal: generate a significant amount of press coverage for the launch of CUROS' new product, CardStory, targeting kids aged 5-12.
The project aims to have the interns help craft press releases, contact reporters, and secure coverage in related & major publications.
- What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

Tasks for the learners to complete to achieve the project goal include:
- Develop a detailed spreadsheet of target press outlets (e.g. with details about specific reporters, if they've covered similar products before, readership overlap with our target market, etc.)
- Prioritize outlets and develop a plan for reaching out
- Develop and test different story angles for pitching to press
- Craft press release(s)
- Organize press embargo so coverage is released at a similar time
Result: they can say "Garnered CUROS _x_number_of publications including big names like _TechCrunch_, _Cnn_, etc. by ____, _____."

- How will you support learners in completing the project?

Clear Project Scope/Goals. I.E. will help learners figure out what real-world resume accomplishments/bullets they want to get out of the projects at the start (e.g. "Got CUROS _x_number_of publications_ including big names like _TechCrunch_, _Cnn_, etc."), and then work with them to set up a strategy and plan for achieving those.
Ownership and Experience: They'll get real ownership and the ability to contribute to a great product launch.
Mentorship: Real active mentorship from people with deep knowledge, experience, and track record. All others in the company are very senior and experienced.
Opportunity: for them to possibly join a full-time paid position after their projects.
Adaptability: Able and open to adapting to the learner's needs & wants. We have lots of other areas they could join and learn from e.g. joining calls with the factory, playtesting/market research sessions, photo & video ad shoots, etc.
