The main objective of this project is to develop compelling visual assets and content to strengthen Helio’s social media presence. The Junior Designer will create on-brand graphics, illustrations, and templates that align with Helio’s identity and engage its target audience.


Key Tasks & Activities:

Content Creation:

  • Design static and motion graphics for social media posts (Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.).
  • Develop templates for recurring content (e.g., quotes, announcements, product highlights).
  • Ensure consistency in brand colors, typography, and visual style.


Asset Development:

  • Create infographics, banners, and promotional visuals for campaigns.
  • Adapt designs for different platforms (e.g., square posts, stories, cover images).
  • Assist in photo editing and retouching as needed.


Engagement & Trends:

  • Research social media design trends to keep content fresh and relevant.
  • Suggest creative ideas for interactive content (polls, carousels, GIFs).


Collaboration & Feedback:

  • Work with the marketing team to align visuals with campaign goals.
  • Incorporate feedback and iterate on designs for optimal performance.


Deliverables:

  • Social media content (static and video)
  • Templates for future use (customizable designs).
  • Brand style guide adherence presentation and report (ensuring consistency).


Skills & Tools Needed:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) or Figma/Canva.
  • Understanding of social media best practices (dimensions, engagement tactics).
  • Strong visual storytelling and attention to detail.


This project will help build Helio’s brand identity online, providing the Designer with hands-on experience in social media design and an introduction to digital marketing.


Deliverables

Learners are expected to complete the following tasks:


Competitor Research & Trends

  • Conduct a competitive analysis of 2-3 competitor brands’ social media presence.
  • Identify top-performing content trends in Helio’s industry.
  • Identify top-performing content types in the industry.

Deliverable: 

  • Presentation of key findings and recommendations  


Social Media Content Creation

  • Design engaging social media posts (mix of static images, videos, reels, carousels, and stories)  
  • Ensure all visuals maintain consistent branding (colors, fonts, style)  
  • Create post and caption variations for each post to test engagement  

Deliverable: 

  • A folder of finalized social media graphics (JPEG/PNG/PSD files)  
  • Content calendar spreadsheet with post schedule and captions  


Template Development

  • Build reusable design templates (quote posts, promo graphics, event announcements)  
  • Optimize templates for different platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter)  

Deliverable: 

  • Template files (Canva/Adobe formats with editable layers)  


Performance Testing  

  • Conduct A/B tests on post variations  
  • Work with the Analytics team to track engagement metrics (likes, shares, click-through rates).

Deliverable: 

  • Simple reports showing test results and insights.
