Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

The main goal of this project is to create an engaging and informative onboarding welcome video for new staff members joining Jewish Family and Child Service (JF&CS). This video will serve as a key component of the organization's onboarding process, aiming to:

Welcome New Staff Members: The video will provide new employees with a warm welcome to the organization, helping them feel valued and appreciated from the moment they join.

Introduce the Organization: By showcasing the history, mission, and values of JF&CS, the video will help new staff members develop a deeper understanding of the organization and its impact on the community.

Highlight Departmental Contributions: The video will feature insights from select managers, highlighting the contributions of different departments and programs within the organization. This will help new staff members understand how their role fits into the broader context of JF&CS's work.

Promote Employee Integration: By emphasizing the importance of each employee's role and showcasing how they contribute to shared goals, the video will promote a sense of belonging and teamwork among new staff members.

Encourage Engagement and Commitment: Through its focus on teamwork, diversity, and making a difference in people's lives, the video will inspire new staff members to fully engage with the organization's mission and commit to its goals.

Overall, the goal of the project is to create a welcoming and informative onboarding experience that empowers new staff members to become active and engaged members of the JF&CS community from day one.

The internship will pay $18.00 per hour, with a projected start date in June 2024, and an estimated duration of approximately 8 weeks.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

The project activities include:

Planning and Conceptualization: Collaborating with project stakeholders to outline the video's objectives, message, and target audience. This involves brainstorming ideas, creating a storyboard, and developing a production plan.

Scriptwriting: Crafting the script for the video, including dialogue for the CEO introduction, departmental insights, and the overall narrative flow.

Filming: Conducting video shoots to capture footage of the CEO's welcome message, departmental interviews, and any additional scenes necessary to convey the organization's culture and values.

Editing: Using video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro) to compile and refine the footage, adding visual effects, graphics, and music to enhance the storytelling aspect.

Documentation: Recording insights, challenges, and decisions made throughout the production process in comprehensive documentation. This serves as a reference for future projects and team members.

Brochure Design: Creating a visually appealing and informative brochure expanding on key aspects of the onboarding welcome video to complement the video content.

These activities are conducted in a collaborative manner, involving coordination among project team members, stakeholders, and the selected student intern.

How will you support learners in completing the project?

Staff Guidance and Mentorship: you will have access to HR team members who will serve as mentors throughout the project. These mentors will offer guidance, feedback, and support, helping learners navigate challenges and make informed decisions at each stage of the project.

Access to Tools and Technology: We will provide you with access to the necessary tools and technology required for video production and editing. This includes software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, as well as any additional equipment or resources needed to capture high-quality video footage and audio.

Access to Data and Information: You will have access to relevant data and information about the organization, including its history, mission, values, and key programs. This information will help you develop a deeper understanding of the organization and its impact, enabling you to create a more compelling and informative onboarding welcome video.

Regular Check-Ins and Progress Updates: We will schedule regular check-in meetings with you to monitor their progress, address any questions or concerns you may have, and provide additional support as needed. These check-ins will ensure that you stay on track and have the resources you need to succeed.

Flexibility and Adaptability: We strive to be flexible and adaptable in our approach to supporting you. This may include accommodating different learning styles, offering alternative resources or tools, or adjusting timelines as needed to ensure the success of the project.
