What is the main goal for this project?

Hart House is seeking a strategic and innovative Student Program Analyst to revitalize and restructure our drop-in programs for the 2024-2025 school year. The focus is on infusing creativity into existing frameworks to create fun and educational outcomes for student engagement. 

 

Responsibilities include:  

  • Evaluating and rejuvenating Hart House's student drop-in programs 
  • Infusing innovative ideas into program designs based on past successes 
  • Developing offerings that balance enjoyment with educational outcomes 
What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?
  • Assess historical data of drop-in programs (Board Game Café, U of Tea Talks). 
  • Benchmark and research similar programs from other institutions globally 
  • Design new programs aligning with Hart House values and student development theory 
  • Plan comprehensively, considering logistics, audience, timelines, outcomes and potential partnerships 
How will you support learners in completing the project?

As the Hart House Student Program Analyst, you will not be alone in your journey. We believe in providing our team with a robust support system to ensure success and personal growth. Here is how your supervisor will support you: 

 

  • Mentorship: You will receive ongoing mentorship from experienced Hart House staff, providing guidance on both project content and personal development, including assess to assessment date for the past programs  

   

  • Resource Provision: Your supervisor will supply a carefully curated list of different universities and department that offer similar programs for you to research and gather information for your program design  

 

  • Regular Check-ins: To keep the project on track and to offer support, your supervisor will schedule weekly check-in meetings.  

 

  • Feedback Loops: Constructive feedback will be provided regularly to help refine your work and ensure that it aligns with the project’s vision and objectives. 

 

  • Skill Development: The supervisor will facilitate opportunities for you to enhance your researching, programing planning assessment skills. 

 

  • Technical Support: If the project requires specific software or tools, the supervisor will arrange for you to have access to these technologies, along with training if needed. 

 

  • Project Management Assistance: Assistance in managing the project timeline, keeping organized and prioritizing tasks will be provided to ensure the project is completed efficiently and effectively.

Hart House is a centre for experiential education outside the classroom at the University of Toronto. Since it opened in 1919, Hart House functions as a place where students, faculty, staff, alumni and members of the broader community connect with each other and the world. Through an array of co-curricular programming in the arts, dialogue and wellness, Hart House works with local and international partners to foster community and to create innovative learning opportunities for students.
